Right. I just noticed a very stupid mistake. I was asking YL about F1 at Albert Park.. Until I realized I wrote it as KING Albert Park in the photo below -___- yes. KAP. xD SOLI LAAAAA.

Anyway, life is pretty good with the Singaporeans. As usual, I dunno much about the Aussies yet cos everyone is stuck in an identity crisis and I feel like some lost sheep not knowing if I should make some moves to improve that .__.

My timetable's great so far, Mon-Thurs ending at 11am on Thurs and then a whole long weekend. People usually say it's less stressful here.. cos perhaps, everything's not as fast-paced as Singapore? I'm beginning to think otherwise cos.. Even Aussies are.. KIASU!? Well, not kiasu but more enthu, so they really go all out and are 'garang' at it.

Went to the Melbourne Zoo on Friday with the Singaporeans. LOL Desmond looked like he was forced. Poor guy was suffering in the sweltering heat. xD Lots of laughter & playing around.. Adrian and his coin machine. LMAO. :D I kinda punched the whole into the gorilla's head for him xD So paiseh.. AND OMG LOLOLOL THE STUPID PEACOCK ATTACK.

Why are Aussie birds so freaking daring!??! We were sitting in this pavilion for lunch break and this idiot peacock climbed up the stairs and was eyeing our food la! I GOT THE SHOCK OF MY LIFE REALLY. LOL and of the cos the guys were being cool cucumbers going, SHERLENE STAY PUT DON'T JUMP OR RUN! But naturally, who would listen when a peacock was about to peck at your sandwich!?! -__- Damn funny la. LOL.

But the Melb Zoo is really boring, there's only 1 specie of each animal. I wanted to FedEx a Koala to Mi but damn, there's only 1 Koala!?! Gosh, I need to go to a reserve so bad :( The butterfly enclosure was pretty cool cos there were so many freaking butterflies, that's the only abundant specie. And we didn't enter.. Cos, they are scary xD
And a pathetic elephant, some penguins.. It's really horrible compared to the Singapore Zoo. ): I miss Singapore. BAH.

Stayed home on Saturday and nua-ed :) My room has natural air-conditioning, it's great, saves lots of electricity..

Went out with the girls on Sunday to Flinder's, Fed Sq & then Southern Cross for some international student welcome which consisted more of passers-by, i.e random aunties and uncles vying for the free goodie bags and face-paints. o_0 LOL.

Had Starbucks in the chilling wind.. Which was a damn shiok feeling. :D Thinking about it though, I'm wondering how I'm gonna survive winter cos I was shivering then already ):

Sunday morning, I found out Mi replied Gaia on UFO.. :D WHICH WAS OMG. alkslkalsklakslskdlksldksldk TBH, I was really happy for her, she's been having bad days recently and I knew that that meant so much, but I was a little jealous too.. That I didn't get a reply though I sent almost the same amount of messages. So anyway, I was spazzing about it with her on Sunday morning, we were yelling at each other 203903900494 miles away in caps, discussing about our WLH plan and I eventually sent one before I left to meet the girls to go to Flinder's anyway.

It was really a pleasant surprise.. The previous night, there were friendship problems among friends surrounding me.. And it really made me upset, cos I dunno, I'm someone who gets affected by the people around me easily, if they're happy, so am I. If they're sad, I'll get sad too. And so I prayed really hard.. My prayers were answered :D

I was so freaking happy, no words can describe it.. It just feels so surreal, damn the stupid internet here is so slow.. When I saw the '接收FLY was 1/1' I almost got a heart attack in my chair. It's Mi, I know.. There are still people who feel indifferent about him.. But.. He's just such a wonderful person, someone who's so humble and inspirational.. Even when M had their busy schedules, he would take time off to attend and be a friend to fans.. Rather than just an 'idol'.

I'll be leaving well, tomorrow, technically. In slightly more than 24 hours. Prepared? I'd say.. 30%. :(

The past few days have been a whirlwind since I came back from Bangkok.. Sunburnt, initially voiceless and now trying to nurse a horrible sore throat.

When I came back, someone asked me about something, which got all the 4 people involved in really high spirits. I'm working hard towards that goal, and really wishing it'd materialize when the time comes, cos it's something that I want so bad right now.

Bangkok was great, I finally met View, went shopping with Jiffy, and him telling me that his Korean gf's sister was chased by Minho during Minho's trainee days 0_0 which left me stunned at the idol merchandise shop staring blankly into thin air, but she rejected him anyways LOL.

OH-EM-GEE, INORITE. XD

Hung out with Yuting and her DongBang gang, it was really fun running across rooms and stalking them. Saw the boys pretty many times at the hotel, but the climax was of course the concert..

And I cried watching Shindong sing Haengbok :'(
Chloe and I fought a war and came back in shreds.. The both of us suffered the most, rofl.

I'm missing it already. Fan account's at SDL's wordpress ^^

Anyway, my life's beginning to feel pathetic, I seriously have no clue how I'm supposed to remain optimistic (Was I even optimistic in the first place?) about going to Melbourne in less than 3 weeks. The accommodation's not settled.. I'm on the waiting list everywhere..

So I'm officially off from work, and lol at blogging at such a God-forsaken hour.

Anyway, met up with Shauna and ChaoChao for dinner and Sitong for lunch today ;)

I learnt my lesson never to have an Earthquake at Tampines Swenson's cos that freaking place is like a North Pole! It was horrendously cold and we struggled to finish the Earthquake amidst shivering and chattering teeth^^

But the company was great, don't wanna think much about having to deal not seeing these people in a long time :(

It's surprising how the both of us, (incl. the Marche gang) plus Chaos still keep in contact with each other.. It's been really long, and I guess my old pictures have gone with the wind, but the memories will still be ever so fresh in my mind. I still remember the first day of school of JC1 and I was calling Banana while walking the overhead bridge and freaking out about meeting a new OG, OGL.. But everything has turned out great so far, and I appreciate that so much!

Lunch with Tong was the best, miss spazzing with her so so so so so much. I really need to talk to her in my fobby 한국어 soon. +_+ But I'm just too shy to start of with. Funny how I can muster up courage to speak to natives but.. ah, I'm so sorry Tong T.T

I bought the 뉴하트 DVD today, shall lug it to Melb! WOOT. In case I get poor internet connection there.. Ah 지성 오빠!

The date's drawing nearer, I've been meeting lots of dear people the past few weekends, and will be meeting more in time to come.. Sigh.

I'll be missing them so so so bad.. Perhaps, meeting them once more before I leave is gonna make me feel worse. D: Dinner at Hotpot Culture was the best yet :) Enjoyed myself a whole lot, ate approximately 1.5kg of food (okay maybe I'm exaggerating) and almost couldn't walk back home TT

But the company was the best *-* Always.

CNY's coming so fast, I don't even know how I'm supposed to welcome it this year, without Cheh.. It feels like something is missing. :( :(

So anyway, going back to tomorrow, there's this unchecked item on my "To-do List" which says, 'prepare for pre-departure briefing'. Right thanks, and the things I've to settle before I get there is only 30% done. o_o

Work's gonna end this week.. Somehow, the pre-withdrawal symptoms are showing up already. T.T Hmmm. Today's my last Monday there.. It feels pretty weird that I've actually managed to survive for so long.. ㄱ_ㄱ

Sometimes I really wonder if going to Melb was the best decision..
I'm feeling so lost, so insecure.. So in doubt about my future there.

Perhaps I'm beginning to regret that I chose to leave my comfort zone, to learn to live independently, fending for myself, making crucial decisions on my own etc etc..

It's starting to get frightening, 2 months down the road, I won't even be in SG anymore..

Now, the house is getting really heated up with quarrels over accommodation matters, my mother being such a leech (literally) bugging me and Dad about emailing my poor cousin .. And to make matters worse, she keeps whining that she doesn't understand what's happening (not like we try to explain it to her but she always doesn't bother easing the stress on her part. -_-) and telling my Dad she doesn't wanna go with me anymore.

LIKE I'D RATHER GO WITH DAD TOO BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE KAY. ARGH. 난 멍청한아~~~ .__.

Today was probably the most 'stressed' day at work.

So on Fri, he said there'll be a Korean coming in on Sat. Hence I went round searching for proper terms, writing them on a piece of paper and bringing along my dictionary on Sat.

She didn't turn up, unfortunately.

I panicked, without my handy-dandy dictionary and well, luckily I was attending to others, but before that, he wanted me to go in with them. I WANTED TO DIE, REALLY, DIG A HOLE AND BURY MYSELF. HELLO EARTH, YOU'RE TRYING TO GET ME TO TRANSLATE? GAH. 정말로, THE ELECTRONIC DICT WORKS BETTER, LOL.

I felt bad cos her 영어 was so much better than my 한국어, so I was going 죄송합니다, 나는 한국어 조금 말해서~~ And then she was trying to tell me that the insurance agent needed more details in the report, and I had to use gestures to get everything right.. Lol, it was cute cos I was going 호텔이름은?? 아~~ 화장실에! It was kinda difficult to understand and all, and then she tried to tell me that she hit her chin against the bathtub, but I forgot what bathtub was, so.. I drew it on the paper instead. XD (Note to self; 욕조 = bath tub; 보험 = insurance)

And her 오빠 was going 아가씨 this and 아가씨 that.. But inside me, I was all "ARGH HELP. HELP SOS" Thank goodness she didn't need the gel sheet, it'd be so hard to explain. In the end, I managed with, 아침에, 오후에, 밤에.. 두개.. 의사님.. 잠깐만요.. sign해 주세요~

She asked me when I started learning Korean cos it was good, which made me feel worse cos we were communicating most in English. GOSH! So paiseh! All I could do was blush and go.. 아니요~~ TT

I complained to him later on.. He thought I spoke to her in Korean (._. )
It was funny though, cos I told him what she said and he was like "I knew you could do it! 갸갸갸" and at the end of the day, "The girl-girl was so excited on Sat! And she was so disappointed she couldn't talk to her!" Oh right, thanks yo. -_-

NYE's with the classmates was awesome :)

Pizza. Devil Wears Prada. Little Nyonya. Countdown Shows. Chocolate fondue with marshmallows. Strawberries. Wine.

Spending the last moment of 2008 and welcoming the first second of 2009 together.

Mahjong. Youtube. Mahjong. Piano. Supper.

Prata, thosai and milo dinosaur were good at 3am in the morning, ate till about 4am and drove to Little Guilin to admire the scenery and enjoy each other's company. 6 of us (yl, nigel, brandon, annabel and belinda) squeezed into the car on a night where road blocks were inevitable XD

Got back to Nigel's house at around 5 plus 6 when the sun was about to rise and I went to sleep before my idiotic alarm woke me up at around 7.30am.

Was still a little woozy and had some breakfast before sleep-neglected yl suggested Star Wars: Monopoly which he ended being the whole monopoliser of the game cos the rest of us went bankrupt with his city built at such an apt position..

Came back home at around lunch time and then I just plonked on the bed till evening.

I'm half writing this on the bus on my iTouch and trying to reflect on what I did the past year. And what about all those new year resolutions.. I think I'm getting tired of writing them down but not up to fulfilling or ticking them off my list T.T

In Brief..
08 has been a pretty eventful year with 3/4 of the year being filled with SJ, lol. It's been a happy year cos of SJ and SJB. Plus meeting all my overseas friends from Italy, France, Germany, Philippines, Bangkok and Malaysia. The SJ fandom was a pretty fatal trap for me to begin with. And now with the interest to update my wp daily it's becoming an even more essential thing, just like breathing oxygen. Perhaps it was fate that I got myself so immersed in it and that I was so engrossed in learning the korean language and wanting to go to Korea to study like what Sitong did.

Another fortunate thing was probably SJB's trip to Genting together. One of my most enjoyable trips ever. Meeting the boys and having fun together at the same time. As well as getting to know Kim and Kara..

Monthly Recap
January
Jan 08 was the beginning of the slack months for all the A's graduates and I went to China for the first time.. It was a really memorable trip, one of my best so far.. And it was after we came back that it started snowing so heavily in Shanghai, which Dad initially said wouldn't snow at all.. 2008 seemed to be an extra eventful year for China as well.. Those snow storms in the beginning of Jan, the tragic 512 quake and the amazing Beijing Olympics..

So anyway, Jan was the month I began my driving lessons as well, took me 6 months to finally complete everything, going through almost 30 practical lessons for my manual course which I kinda returned everything about the clutch to Sylvester. HAHA. I wanna drive a manual car again one day ^^

February
Early Feb, I relived my past fandom with 56 -_- YES. Gosh, they're growing older now.. So the feeling's kinda different, nevertheless, I'd never forget all those fun times and happy memories that were shared between the Royals during those 'golden' years. XD

Feb was the month I also began a job.. with FRM. Thank goodness Chiew was there. So met a few friends, Danny and Brian as telemarketers.. It was tiring but the location wasn't too bad in the CBD district, and damn I miss the delicious Nasi Lemak T.T Then it was CNY and we quit the FRM job, to jump over to this surveyor job.. Jack of all trades eh..

It was at the Sentosa Flowers which was pretty cool, except for the constant sun exposure.. Other than that, we had some free time off some days and our pay was doubled cos we had to work on 2nd day of CNY, so I guess it was all good.

March
The month where we faced the music. The horrible, excruciating-ly, high-pitched music. RESULTS. Okay, shall just skip this. But I'm overall happy with my Physics :) Thank you God. Soon all the uni open houses followed up and it was a month I chiong-ed a few movies with the girls.. Ahhh.. I love movies, hopefully I'll get to do the same in Aust but the movie tickets there are way too expensive, like $20 or something. -_-

It was in March that I started watching EHB..

April
The month I officially got myself hooked with those 13 boys, and later on 15.. The month in which M had their proper debut and finally I understood some stuff.. It was great that SJB came into the same fandom, cos we grew closer, had sleepovers and show marathons after that.. Pin-up Boys, EHB, Full House, Adonis Camp.. All these were excellent memories ;;;

And thinking back.. It was so long ago that Royals had our picnic at Botanical Garden!? Gah, miss them so much :( Did some temp work at Robinsons after the Sentosa Flowers job ended and was slacking along the way too.

End April was the time for my TP test but I failed first time round, yes.. immediate failure cos of one stupid idiot but ah, that's history.

May
M M M M M! May is the month for M! :D And May was the month I began allocating time daily to my wp.. :D It's been my proudest so far ;) It just gives me the daily satisfaction of allowing others to feel the boys' love :) Okay sorry it sounds mushy (._.)

Started subbing videos at youtube.. And then slipping into the 'habit' of having to sub something new every few weeks, but now.. All's gone. yt wiped them out, my HDD crashed.. -_- how pathetic.

June
Dream Con! :D Worked at PC Show for Lenovo as gift redemption.. Experienced the menacing thoughts of having to battle 129029302930 wars each day against rude, overbearing, pompous customers who argue their way out to get what they want. -_- How annoying.

July
July was the birthday month for the 83 Line. xD And then.. Random stuff here and there, went back to SA to collect the cert, met a few teachers and talked..

End July was the day.. MTV ASIA CALLED EARLY IN THE MORNING TO INFORM ME THAT I WON THE TIX. Gosh, I really love some odd premonitions cos I kinda had one that I'd finally be able to see the boys in person after fantasizing for so long. XD

So it was great that we managed to settle everything like within a day and Chiew and Bel were coming along too! LKASLKLKLKDLKSD. Okay major spazzing time.

August - Now
Okay shan't elaborate much further cos I'm in a rush and this is getting tiring -_- lol. So anyway, August was the month I started proper work.. Can't believe I'll be leaving that place soon.

Oct, Gong Gong passed away.. Those memories with him will be forever in my heart, I miss him so much.

Began Korean class in Sept, I really wish to further my Korean studies, go to Seoul to find 선생님 and learn Korean and appreciate the culture!

Nov was Kpop Fest in SG, sad there was no SJ. But meeting Last4One was cool enough!

Aye, that's about all, will probably post more about 2009 when the time comes..

Korean class gathering was on Thurs night at Sampo Charcoal BBQ Restaurant 삼포 숮불 갈비 at Peck Seah Street which was awesome :D

But the aftermath for me was a slight nightmare..
Perhaps I should have known my stomach wasn't that strong enough to take so many things at one go. :(

So we had 삼겹살, 김치탕, some squid thingy and.. all those numerous side dishes that were too many to count.. I was bloated for like 5 hours at least. I regretted eating to my fill.. Or at least I thought I was enjoying my meal thoroughly.

And yesterday dinner with the girls was great, loved the company but the food kinda added salt to my wound. I became daring and ordered pasta with sea urchin sauce. =.= I really shouldn't next time. Perhaps I'll just stick to those I usually get :(

My stomach has battered the thunderstorm the past 2 nights, feeling like a dejected and uncared for washing machine on the loose. :| Had slight fever last night but I went to work this morning. Lol. u_u

Anyway, spending time with the girls is always ♥__♥
I'm gonna miss them so much.

Which reminds me, the uni emailed me to tell me I'm on the waiting list for dorm accommodation till mid-Jan. wtf.

I guess the postponement of the Bkk trip was probably a blessing in disguise..

I have gotten so much sleep the past 2 days it's sufficient to get me running on emergency battery for 2 months at least >.<

So anyway, I'm on this project.. I don't know if it's worth going through.. After what I originally said my stance would be.. But.

I guess I'm not in it for anything. Or am I just deceiving myself?

I've never felt so depressed and troubled in my life before.
I've never prayed so much in my life before.

Dreams don't come true do they?
After spending so much, so much time frustrating over this..
First with SJB, and then with Daddy, and then getting the freaking hotel, the flights..

All's been settled and we were just good to go.
Now they come and shock us with this.

Do we all deserve this at all???

Perhaps I'm in no position to blame anyone, to start cursing at whoever's at fault for the current situation, but at least, give me some sort of answer.

We're all waiting like fools, waiting just for a definite answer to what will happen in 2 days time.

Thank you V for all the countless help, and the advice.. I'm praying hard for you all..

Today was bad.. I flopped at reading numbers in Sino-Korean. Dang. T__T
And it was my last Korean lesson.
Nvm, I told 선생님 of my future plans and she was all ^-^* about it! :D I can't wait.

Got some sort of hell in the morning when I overlooked 15 ml vs 30 ml when 30 ml is the norm..
Okay, I have a penchant to be clingy onto things which I should just live and let go.

Whatever.

Life's being pretty much a sewage pipe cos I'd have to slog the whole of next week before my gorgeous Vaio comes on Thursday (hopefully) and then I'd be flying off Friday morning to The Land of A Thousand Smiles~

The only thing I'm uberly excited about.
Barely can wait.

Today was pretty okay, I guess I just flopped during class and killed myself when I giggled too much XD

Today was good in a way cos I saw Last4One outside Paragon! OMGOSH. I WANTED TO DIE. MY EYEBALLS WERE LITERALLY SPRINGING FORWARD 1921092019209102901920129 M! :D

I was thinking whether I should get onto the bus outside Lucky Plaza to head down directly to PS but changed my mind to go to Cine to look out for stuff first.. It was then I saw the GANG of them.. And in my heart I was like WHOA, HOW COOL *__* . And after 0.000001s.. I saw the exclusive shirt that only the crew has.

Ah I forgot to mention.. There was the Korean Festival 2008 in SG and that was why the Kpop Night came about.. So yeah, it had it's opening at Vivo on the 1st and 2nd of Nov and I was there on the 2nd to watch Last4One since cousin was having exams and what nots. I decided to check them out since they were highly-acclaimed.. It was then that I realized they were SUPERBLY AWESOME. OMGOSH.

I'm being biased but I like them more to Jabbawockeez anw XD
Zero-Nine's my favourite now, he rocks my world. ♥ Got a picture with him and.. I forgot who's the other. But they're really nice, except for me shaking all over when asking them for a picture instead of 사진 that I forgot I knew how to ask them in Korean and was just going.. "O-oooo-pp-aa" and shoving the notebook into their hands. I plucked up courage to ask 5/8 of the crew that were there T__T

Birthday Blues

Many things happening at the same time, yet so little time given to handle all of them properly.. Okai, I just suck at time management, ugh.

So last week was the 19th birthday.
I was kinda upset the whole day cos it was getting to me that I was turning old (yeah I know, who doesn't? XD) and probably cos it'll be the last time in 3 years that I'll be spending my bday in Singapore with family and friends..

Worked sucked and he apparently blocked 1 hour off the book for a 'business lunch' which was supposed to be lunch out for all of us.. But as usual, it got eaten up :\ And I think he remembered later on and rushed across to Bakerzin to get me this:

It was really nice.. XD Later on I went home and Dad brought the family out to eat.. We were supposed to go to Carnivore at Vivo but it was full and Dad didn't make a reservation -.- So next alternative was Crystal Jade and we ended up having this set dinner which I wasn't exactly interested about. Ah well. And Mum was getting all agitated and saying, "Cannot wait already! We need to be home early!" Which I kinda suspected what was going on but I just chose to ignore it.. Cos the whole day was kinda horrible any way :X

After dinner we headed home and I was on the comp and luckily.. I didn't change out in case something unexpected happened.. Which indeed did.

The girls came over for a surprise :D :D :D

I'm so touched!! Really. I mean.. Okay, tbh I was thinking about it much since I was involved in surprises planning for like the whole year before.. So when there was free time at the clinic I would just drift off thinking about.. Potential timings for mine. Yeah, thick-skinned XD

Anyway, I was looking at sj-world.net when the girls started singing the song :D :D :D
Oh yeah, my Korean Class-mates sang a song for me in Korean too! :D

Then the girls bought another Strawberry Shortcake and Dad got what I requested for, a Tiramisu one from Savoury Fare so there were 3 cakes altogether ^^

We had a sleepover.. All 5 of us in a LONGGGGGGGGGGG time and I just enjoyed their company so much, I miss those days we would all hang out and just crap about school, about other people, about the culture and stuff.. Now it's getting hard to reminisce those times.. :'(

The same week, there was KPOP Concert Night at Indoor Stadium. I'm so thankful that Mum managed to get A Block seats and thanks to my powderful Canon I got pretty good videos.. ;;; Just that I was experimenting with the taking-still-images-during-videos so I didn't realize the pauses until after the show -.-''' Other than that, my videos were all shiny and HQ.. But so much better on the com itself, yt just keeps killing the quality.

And then sent them off on Wed night too.. 2pm, Andy, Jewelry, U-Kiss etc all left on the Korean Air flight which was a total mess cos there were heaps of fangirls around and everyone was just chanting "대한민국" in the airport which invited so many stares.. >.<>

The Eulogy

During that.. I didn't cry..

I kept repeating in my head, be strong, be strong..
Somehow I felt that Ah Gong wanted happiness to be around, he wanted people to not worry about him, he wanted everyone to celebrate his journey in life..
Still, it almost came out when my cousin said her last words to him on behalf of all the grandchildren.. It was.. Too overwhelming.

It was an amazing 91 years.
And I guess I wasn't able to grieve as much as my other cousins who went on trips to the States, Europe etc with him in their younger days and had more fond memories of him.. But.. The lone Phuket trip we had together.. It was just my best, and his latest memory.

More tears than in 2005.. But I'm glad he has ended his suffering.

On the other hand, the wake was a good avenue for friends and family to catch up. This time, it was good for me going to Melb.. Cousins giving me great advice.. James coming back from Melb and my parents entrusting him responsibility to give me a scolding if anything went wrong XD.. Giffy coming back all the way from Bangkok to pay his last respects..

And his Korean friend who totally looks like Masi Oka, 유정, who imparted a whole ton of 한국어 to me at like 12am.. Leaving Giffy and I all @__@ and complaining that our contacts were stinging and dry while the brains were malfunctioning. LOL.

He told me to type in full Korean sentences if I talk to him on msn. OMGAH. =.=
He'll probably be like (!@*(!*@(!*@(*!; what is she talking about!?

And he's from Seoul Uni. (I think) OMGOSH, like the best uni in Korea. So smart. >.< So it was pretty hilarious 'spazzing' with them cos they're like 20 over and Giffy reminds me a whole lot of Lee Seung Gi (aish, missed my fave 2d1n yest..), and the irony that his gf and I do not know each other (but we'll be in the same country soon) but the BOTH of us said that he does look like Lee Seung Gi. HAHA. How uncanny is that.

But he does! And I just shouted '이승기'! And the guilty-one-who-denies-the-truth turned around -__-'''
Plus, the greater irony is that he likes So Hee! XD And So Hee said that she likes LSG best from 2d1n.. Amajingggg. ;;;

This morning after coming back from Mandai, I was playing Nobody and So Hot on my phone and the fanboy was going.. SEND ME! SEND ME! MAYBE I CAN USE IT AS MY RING TONE. LOL XD So funny.

my 할아버지's gone

Perhaps it dawned on me a while later.. When I was in the washroom and thinking about what he went through, or what I knew that he went through..

Perhaps it was the language barrier, that all I could ask every time I saw him was only, "Ah Gong, ho bo?" (Ah Gong, you good?) and see him smile toothlessly and nodding at everyone else who acknowledges him..

Somehow.. I had this awkward feeling.. And I was talking to S about it today in the office, about grandparents, before I called Mum and then she broke the news..

I don't know how to feel.. It's just that when I was in the OT alone.. Tears streamed down.. I.. I don't know how to cope with the sudden loss in the family. And Dad's being awfully strong about it.. Telling me that everything's fine and I should just go back to work, and not worry about it.

It was 3 years ago then my grandma left us.. It was really strong of Ah Gong to be mentally aware that she was gone, for she had been suffering longer than he had.. Illnesses which plagued her.. Getting ferried in and out of the hospital.. And for all that time, he was just by her side..

He was healthily walking and taking buses up to JB even at 80 by himself and exploring the island.. It was until he had this serious fall that he became wheelchair-bound..

Last week, he couldn't swallow food and they had to send him to TTSH. In a way, I was ignorant and in fact, relieved that TTSH was just opposite Square 2 where I could find out about the Kpop Con tix.. I know, just kill me for being such an idiot..

I took for granted, that all the times he was shuffling in and out of hospital due to minor illnesses, difficulty in breathing and such.. Was leess likely to be fatal than what Mama suffered, i.e stroke..

Then today, they were trying to fix the tubing back so that they could feed him, and Dad said that probably the doctor was inexperienced, and they overlooked certain areas and hence Ah Gong suffered a fatal heart attack.

Perhaps I wasn't close to him, due to the age gap and language barrier.. But he was indeed dear.. He would lighten up the room with his cheery smile and at the beginning of the year, when he celebrated his birthday and could still hear a little more than last Sunday, when someone asked, "Ah Gong, how old are you?", he'd put up both his hands and tell you that he's 100.

I'm proud my Ah Gong has lived a fulfilling life.. On Sunday when I last saw him, he was all frail and skinny.. And then the adults were talking about euthanasia and stuff like that.. About not wanting to live that old in tremendous agony, not being able to speak, see or hear properly and barely able to communicate with your loved ones..

Perhaps, it's a blessing that God took him away to end his suffering.. It has been accumulating much..

Ah Gong, may you rest in peace, I love you forever.

Oh, we surprised Bel on her birthday last week.. Rushed down to SMU to meet Chiew after work and then hanged out on her laptop until she finished her CCA and headed down to Bel's house.. The blur us didn't have her address so the journey to her house was purely based on memory, lol. We blindly got onto a bus which looked familiar, dropped at the stop which we knew was correct and randomly walked till we had vague memories of the right void deck. HAHA.

And she was surprised, indeed :D

My holidays are gonna end tomorrow, that's why the title :(

I've been on leave for a whole week now, I guess that's what's good about my job. And I'll have another block leave period in Dec. Hopefully I'll get to beg Dad to bring me somewhere, in Asia again but at least 1 more winter trip before I leave for Aussieland! ^^;;;

Been subbing lots of shows recently, okay fine, 2 but.. It was tiring enough! 2 hours worth of video each but.. almost a whole day's worth of work! 1st Premium Event in Japan & BGF outdoor which was OH-SO-FRIGGIN-HILARIOUS. Cannot tahan ah ♥ 韓庚啊你爲什麽那麽可愛!! And Kyu's "這太不像話了!" AJHSJHDJSHDJHSKFJKDJFKDJF. Nothing else except that would really cheer up any bad day of mine. Seriously.

The whole week was pretty fulfilling I'd say and I've been really really busy lately..
22 Aug was spent at Kbox with Royals! Haha.. It was more of binging on the buffet food. :D

Yes, if you haven't heard, Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin have been in Singapore to film 그들이 사는 세상 (The World They Live In/GeuDeulYi SaNeun SeSang) since the 1st.. But have left for Bintan earlier today.

So far, they were spotted at Chinatown, Raffles Place, Empress Place, Boat Quay and Clarke Quay etc.. Yesterday I heard they were going to Indochine at Empress Place so I chionged down hoping to see them since I had no fate with them on Fri cos they went out to sea.. To find out that they'd only be there at 2am?! (Apparently later than that) I was there gallivanting at like 11pm in the FRIGGIN RAIN! Grrr.

In the end, I walked around the circumference of the Singapore River, and gave up after I asked the waitress if she knew there was gonna be filming. And it so happened that the staff were not told of it cos it was top secret? Or perhaps they didn't even go in to film? I wasn't sure anw.. And I went back home after that.

Today, I finally got news that they'd be leaving on the 2pm ferry to Bintan and I zoomed down to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Met Ailing there and realized the whole crew of about 30-40 people and their barang barang arrived earlier than me.. like 12.30pm? Lol. Unfortunately, H2 were in the lounge and hidden from the public eye. But I was in a position that spotted only Hye Kyo and I didn't realize Hyun Bin was on the other side.. Funny how they weren't sitting together and at separate ends with their managers/personnel. :|

Anw, in short, Hyun Bin is H-O-T. :^D

It's been a long time since I last updated... considering the fact that I used to update daily so I can look back 10 years down the road and say, 'Hey, I actually did this on X day of X year!!!"

So anyway, Chiew's surprise on the 4th was a success, had to coordinate with Jo so much!! (Thanks so much Jo, if you happen to read this ^^) And we told a whole bunch of lies !die! just because Birthday Girl kept springing up with different things each time to stump us and make us plan a detour instead! Lol, college day, sg flyer, movie.. thinking about it just makes me laugh.

It was tedious keeping her in the dark but I guess it was worth the expression she had when she saw us instead of her clique with whom she initially planned it with! LOL. And then Bel and I had to fib our way through on Thurs saying that we had school and went out shopping with mother respectively just so Chiew didn't get suspicious and planned our timings to message her so that there were no loopholes. Just so that we could bake cookies for her!!

I actually felt pretty accomplished everything went well, except running from Taka to Wheelock in heels because someone turned up AMAZINGLY EARLY and then Jo went all flustered trying to call me to hurry up and get her other clique members to pretend that they were there earlier and such.

the rest of the week was spent spazzing over the Japan FM with SJB and then on the 10th was dinner with the girls!

GOSH, the last time we actually had a meal together was last Dec!! Time flies. :(
Fish&Co at Paragon and the waiter said I looked familiar cos he probably saw my picture on a blog. o__0 Errrr. Lol. Ahhh more gatherings before I'm off to AussieLand please!

11th was cousin bonding time! Watched 27 Dresses in the movie room at Ness & Rach's and almost felt asleep on the comfy couch!! ♥ Guitar Hero-ed till my vision went blur and gave up after that. :D Guess there'll be more CBT when I get to AussieLand!

Went to Vivo (again) with the parents on Sat and got myself a 29" luggage. Huge but I think not enough for my clothes. And I'm still looking for trench coats/jackets for winter!! Ahhh love those at Zara but they were pretty formal and too matured XD

Today was spent getting exasperated over dumb road diversions at Potong Pasir when I drove all the way to SA BY MYSELF. Yes, virgin single driving experience. And I think I broke some rules! BAH. XD

So I happily slotted in Don't Don into the player and header off onto the PIE and then all the way when I was supposed to exit near Bendemeer but they had Circle Line roadworks! And I think it began just over the weekend or something? Then I exited somewhere further down and ended up having to go all the way back leftwards and got lost again when there was a 3-lane diversion and Mei said keep right so I kept right, to find myself ending up at Upper Aljunied instead. :S

Luckily I had my bluetooth headset on and Dad-the-Saviour was my human GPS for the day ^^ Picked up Chiew and Bel and then went back to school to get the certs and fascinate at different changes and meet some teachers as well.

Chicken rice plus tau huey after that was soooo 懷念! And I had trouble parking at that darn car park... Gosh, I felt like a Teuk-driver then! But! I stayed calm, fortunately. I think.

Anw, after the meal, I picked up Mei and then we headed home together, and once again, the road-idiot I am exited an exit too early and I ended up at Paya Lebar instead of Eunos and I had to find time trying to navigate through the inner roads! Gahhh~ Heng I saw a 197 and decided to follow it! HAHA.

Just as when I saw Miss Ho (my sec sch Chem teacher) at the TK bus stop and I think she probably saw me or something. Mei was hurriedly telling me to "Don't stress!" before that because I felt so lost. HAHA.

But I figured out everything in the end and sent her home safely :))
And came home safely too!

Ahhhh so much for being responsible of the car.
I guess I won't be daring enough to drive alone in Melb! XD

It has been a pretty eventful week, I kinda chionged outings last week, lol.

Thurs was SJB's catching up day, and the 3 of us went to Vivo to spazz over mags and food at Kim Gary. Chiew and I then watched 21 which was pretty awesome, though I barely understood the Monty Hall Problem, it's really very cheem. LOL.

Fri was dinner with the Royals, it's been long since we last caught up with each other. I want chalet again!!!

Sat Mum dragged me to Vivo again and I found a nice parka-like jacket at Pull & Bear but there weren't sizes left :( So much for winter-clothes shopping. And I drove to and fro, getting stuck at the Vivo carpark trying to park in an awkward corner, HAHA.

Sun was lunch with Marche Gang. GOSH It's been ages since I last saw them too, we caught Get Smart which was lame-ish-ly hilarious. And Masi Oka was so adorable inside! As usual had the arguing sessions with Charlie with Bert and Bear just staring at us unable to mediate and salvage the situation. LOL. Ended up eating at Crystal Jade before sprouting a small little cake for Charz' birthday. HAHA. Soooo funny. I miss chatting sessions with Bear so much! :(

Mon night was SJB outing again before Bel started school on Tues. LOL. The cheese fondue was heavenly! At... that Billy Bomber's place thing at Bugis. I kinda forgot the name, heh. So anyway shopped around Bugis Village but sadly I didn't find my cap.

Yesterday was spent driving to East Coast Parkway for dinner and Mum insulting my driving skills by saying I was slow. XD Bleah. I was driving at almost 90km/h! Okay, maybe 80. But it's under the safe speed limit aye?! And then I got stuck at parking AGAIN because my prediction wasn't too good. Had to get out of the car and let Dad park instead. HAHA.

Unfortunately, it seems like I'm following in Kyu's foot steps and I really suck at parking as well. FOR NOW, if only I had the luxury to park in between 2 lots. ROFLOLMAO!

Oh Sunday night was spent chionging Hankyung's Behind the Story 背后的故事 as well. I dl-ed the raw vid at 1am and chionged subbing from 1-5am before sleeping and then continuing on Mon from like, 11am-3pm? 40mins worth of talk show = 860 lines. XD My fingers almost broke! Anw, you know where to find them, here, because I'm too lazy to individually link them, hah!

Yes, I'm actually awake at such an odd hour, and I was having a headache awhile ago. My stomach is growling but I shouldn't be eating now, aye.

Been starting to shop for winter clothes, and trying to come to terms that life alone IS GONNA BE TOUGH.

So much for being pampered my whole life.

I'm feeling neutral about it. It kinda sucks. BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Shopping for winter clothes during the GSS is fun, cos you know they always get left on the shelves. HAHA.

$$$$$$$$$$$ come to me. I wanna go travel around the world please. please please please. Then again, I always think on the bright side that life in a new country's gonna be fun, I get to explore new things and enjoy the wonderful 4 seasons for once and not complain that it's gonna be boring!

I'm pretty stuck to the daily routine of spazzing with SJB and doing my rounds. Sometimes, I feel like giving up on my SJ blog. It's getting tiring. HAHAHA, I'm just feeling lazy. Although much of the satisfaction comes from the hits... but ah well. :)

the boys deserve it, and I'm so glad to spread the fandom.
Trust me, once you start, you can't stop!
So I shall just use it to keep myself sane and occupied.

Hopefully when I get to Melbourne, I won't be missing out on a lot of these, I DON'T WANNA EXPERIENCE ALL THOSE WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS!!! I guess I'll be relying a lot on yt then! HEH.

Perhaps, I'm getting myself entangled too deep in this? On the other hand, it's a good thing I can just continue dreaming about them cos it's almost impossible I'd get to see them with my own eyes, like, directly in front of me at least once in my whole life.

NVM, I'M GOING TO MELB TO FIND LOTSA KOREAN CHINGUs ♥♥♥! 대한민국친구! AND THEN I'm gonna learn Korean so I can communicate with them in their native language and perhaps they'll invite me there one dayyyyy! And I'll spend 1 whole year in Seoul just hanging around, eating samgyupsal, kimchi, mandu, tteokppokki... and drink soju and just enjoy the Han river ^-^* -drifts off to my dreams-

oh btw, Dad's not gonna let me drive in Melb! :(

Unless the parents/relatives come over for a visit.
I'm glad I found people whom I know are going to Melb, some who are already there! ^^ So I won't be alone! :)

There's dear Blur Sotong who keeps asking me to accept the Monash offer and Pam who's going to Melb U and... I think more sec school friends who took up foundation studies there. Like CHAIRMEH! Okay I should go back to facebook and start my international search for chingus. :)

I should grab hold of this opportunity to experience a new life somewhere, yes, I won't deny there's a huge part of me that'll miss all the things back home, my room, my bed, my familiar surroundings which I have been in for 18 years...

Worked at the PC Show at Lenovo's redemption booth. I can't believe I attended to over 1000 customers, seen the good, the nice, the bad, and the ugly. :S

Some people just can't read flyers for goodness sake, and they end up pushing their way through just for the best prize of the LUCKY DIP. It's a lucky dip! It depends on your LUCK, yoohoo? Earth to (insert name)! Got pissed at some of them but obviously, 'customer is king' so we can't show them our black faces but then... its all the !(*@(!*@(!*(@!*@ inside. LOL. XD I don't understand why people have to be so obnoxious and pushy just to get what they want, and in the end, affecting other people and hindering the flow of the whole process and of course, delaying the queue.

And some people just don't understand how to fill up the warranty forms even though we explained it to them 109201920910291 times (cos they're buying for their brothers and sisters etc). It's basically foreigners so I can, perhaps, get the fact that they don't understand me or what, but I said it slowly, and clearly... but he was like, ARE YOU SURE WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME IS RIGHT?! (In a really offensive tone) Hello. The friend understood but he didn't want to save me so I was being flushed down the toilet bowl right there and then. I explained the same procedure successfully to the other 999 customers and you tell me I'm wrong!? :S

It was a good experience, nevertheless.
THOUGH IT KILLED MY FEET AND MY SANITY for a few moments due to the overwhelming crowd of 1million people who are mad shopaholics raking in over $50m in sales just over 4 days...
WOW. o____O

The pay was pretty good for a 'brainless' job but you had to deal with people from different walks of life, of course. I realized there are also those Singaporeans who are exceptionally friendly that will chat with you and ask you whether it's tiring, whether you're having hols, how's the pay etc. Those people really made my day. And I had a nice group of colleagues, btw. Plus the other nice sales promoters who'd joke when they came by. I'm so thankful I met them :) Some were really nice and friendly!

That was another consolation.
Minus all the other horrigible cons of not being able to eat unless there's no customers (which is like seldom since the crowd doesn't seem to end until they close the doors), not being able to sit/rest, and not being able to breathe cos you're being squashed like sardines.

ITS BEEN REALLLYYY LONG since I've been here, and SJB's coming over to my house tmr but I shall just come back and clean off some cobwebs and stuff. HAH. XD

yes, so I'm devoted to my wordpress 24/7 now, stalking soompi/Baidu/SJF/gyuhyuncn etc for updates and whatever else. :) My life seems to be going around in the same circle now. HAH.

BUT, ♥ 슈파주니머-요빠 사랑함니다!

Class lunch on Sat (7June: DC DAY!) was good cos many people came ^^ heh, let's see. Chiew, Lena, me, Yewliang, Tong, Bob, Justin, Leonard, Jerome, Chester, Weiying & Nigel! 12 people. :) Had fun with the gang as usual, but we forgot to take pictures! :( Anyhow, I always love their company. :)

Shopped around before heading back and getting flustered over Pandora. Thanks alot XD Okay, I have nothing much about my ~~boring~~ personal life to update about. Perhaps if I go Aussie next year I might have a chance to learn Korean this year~ HEH. :)

Headed down to Seafood Paradise for Godpa's birthday celebration after visiting Annabel at the hospital... I miss the class :( Food was great and affordable as well. Finally tasted the crab! oooooh! the creamy butter crab was SO DARN DELICIOUS. Its seriously nicer than chilli crab, imo. :) Esp with the mantou! YUM YUM.

sorry no pictures cos the pictures Dale took of me were totally unglam XD HAHA. But I ♥ his DLSR. :( too ex for me though.

IDP Open Day at Orchard Hotel... still deciding on uni stuff. XD It's killing me. My brain cells are getting massacred by all these (!&@(!*@(!*(@*!(@* decisions I've gotta make. :( HELP. SOS.

Then went back to fetch Mum and went to Uncle Chark's new house for Mama's birthday celebration. Uncle Chark got those chefs from Peach Garden to come specially to his house to cook a 9-course meal. Very appetizing! :D OH MY WASABI PRAWNS ARE ♥.

So yesterday, SJB met for a movie!! :D Made of Honour!
It was almost like P.S I Love You, especially since they went to the UK to film scenes as well. And almost at the same place! But I love the scenery. ♥ ahhh European countrysides!

So I guess its a pretty clichéd movie, but I enjoyed it. Patrick Dempsey was hilarious and Michelle Monaghan was very gorgeous. :)

I'm loving all the hanging out sessions with SJB where we can fangirl and talk and laugh loudly at stuff only we know about :) Its a boredom killer! ♥

AHHHH Thursday please come quick. and KHD is like the funniest and most hilarious host ever! :D His laughter is so freaking contagious. I still can rmb the Geochang ep with them singing at the Korean National Singing Contest and literally fell off my seat and ROFL-ed. Literally. I know I've posted this before and quoted the scene Hyukkie fell off his chair after inhaling laughing gas in EHB 5... sigh.

2 Another song up for recommendations! :D OH GOSH. Its such a pretty song~ I totally LOVE LOVE LOVE the melody. I'm a new fan of SG Wannabe now. Esp with their 은(恩) also! ♥ This song is 지상에서 영원으로 (Forever In Jisang) Remixed version. The original version has a slower tempo... I really love the guy with the husky voice! The guy who sings the chorus 1st! I think he's the main vocal, Jin Ho?

3 Last song! F.T. Island's 첫키스 First Kiss. I didn't know Hong Ki had such a nice voice. Awww. This is the type of song that'd make a girl fall for someone. Totally melt-worthy! :D And I've a soft spot for guitar-heavy songs! HEH.

Suju's at HB 08 now... the concert's finished so I'm currently stoning and rotting online waiting for pics and fancams. YESUNG WENT. YAY.. :D he was oh-so-cute at the finale when he was screaming and bouncing on stage going... "We are SUPER JUNI-OR!!!" amidst the squeals of fans. HAHA. :)

BUT,
the feeling sucks. so much for wanting to be a fangirl again. haha XD
ah well, and then if they do come, i'd be going crazy over the language barrier. :(

He donated anonymously (a fair deal, I'm sure), contributing to the 6,800,800 Yuan ZSM donated for the quake victims. and he's bringing down all the SJ-M boys to donate blood. :) and the fans have donated 100,000 Yuan in his name to the victims as well. Plus the DBSK fans who sold their Shanghai con tix (i'm not sure if it's been cancelled?) and donated the money to the victims. :) SG'S DART TEAM FIGHTING! :D They're one of 4 foreign rescue teams (besides Russia, South Korea and Japan^^) currently allowed into China. :D I'm so proud of them. :D :D :D

Pray for all the victims of the 512 Sichuan quake, for many many precious miracles.

anyway, the world's been going crazy the past week, just 10 days ago, Cyclone Nargus hit Myanmar, and yesterday, this 7.8 magnitude Earthquake struck China.

:( so many natural disasters, just coming one after another.
i was so worried for the boys (first hand) when i heard there was the quake on cna. and now, i'm worried for the 10,000 people who died and many more buried under debris.

the cyclone ain't much better either. its worse having killed hundreds of thousands of people. and esp with the water conditions and sanitation problems, there are fears that epidemics might occur. :( and help isn't getting to them fast due to the junta constraints... and and... aish.

this is just too upsetting. :(

i barely slept 6 hours the past 3 nights. been doing lotsa youtube-ing lately, and yay i've uploaded Heechul's Happy Shares Company Ep1 with English Subs! which reminds me, i've yet to finish ep2. :( its getting really tiring. i should just choose shorter clips next time. lol.

anw, i was up till 6.30am this morning, 7.30am Korean time (KT) to watch the Suju boys run their tv24 Hope Marathon. :D and i left my laptop beside my bed and throughout the morning i was constantly awoken by the noise. lol.

at about 4.30am KT they were still sleeping, the live streaming was kind enough to broadcast them sleeping to the whole wide world, on pathetic make-shift beds... :( with minimal blankets to cover themselves in the 10deg weather + sea/river breeze from the Hangang River (lol, i saw someone spell it on soompi as Hangeng River. cute.) ! sheesh, its plain torture. i think their manager was suffering the most cos it seemed like he gave some of his blankets to the boys who were freezing their butts off. i hope he's okay now, cos he's also running along with the boys.

Yesung was out of the run since last night, got sent to the hospital cos i think his calf was swollen due to excessive running (?)... not sure but i really do hope he's perfectly fine now. :) at least he can joke to the others and ask them to mention him during their rest-point interviews. yehhhhsung, get well soon please!

Kangin's been really sweet giving water bottles to the ELFs who were running beside them. i wonder where they slept through the night man. :) ELFs fighting~ and around this morning he was taking pictures with the staff/fans while they were resting. he seemed to be in the best mood out of the lot when they woke up at about 5.30am KT. :D he was singing and dancing around with a pale-looking Hyuk. Poor Kangin and Ming couldn't sleep though. Ming was up at 4am KT. :( hope he doesn't tire himself out too much!

okayyyyy so i guess i havent been in the blogging mood recently. uni stuffs are depressing. don't wanna think too much into it. i want to eat Beijing fried rice :'(

met Ship for lunch at taka :D we should hang out more often yah! and went around walking and looking for stuff.

left after Ship had to go for piano and met Chiew and Bel and the other guys at Wisma. shopping again! lol... walked and walked from Wisma to Taka and then to Centrepoint where we initially planned to eat Pizza Hut to realize its no more there. and so from there, we walked to Cathay for Jap dinner at Nihon Mura. gosh, we really walked alot. and it was my horrible decision to wear heels cos my other step-ins were slippery that totally killed my energy!

so the class went to Nihon Mura at Cathay's basement. the sushi's really cheap! @ $0.99 per plate! and the food's not too bad either. would love to go back there! then we walked over to PS to get Ice Monster and over to Istana Park to feast cos there weren't enough space. LOL. was enjoying the romantic ambience before i discovered a whole trail of ants crawling beside us. HAHA. will post pics once i dl them!

okay this is a smiley post. hahah updates on personal life. i'm still quite reluctant to transform this into a SuJu blog since it didn't start as a SuJu blog and that wasn't my main motive of opening a blog anw. yepppsss so i'll just be shifting to and fro. anything that makes me happy will be here. YAY.

oh i'm recently hooked onto a new show. its called 2 Days and 1 Night (1박2일). [click for the promo website] Been tuning in to KBS World on cable ever since i miraculously caught Teukie and Yesung on Sponge 2.0 one day when i just switched on the tv. haha. anw, the show's really super hilarious and if i'm not wrong it's on every Thurs. yeah sucks cos its only weekly. Kang Ho Dong's really superbly cracktastic in the show, i almost bust a lung laughing today. to the extent i fell off my chair and continued laughing on the ground. haha. its almost like inhaling laughing gas (flashes back to EHB 5 when Hyukjae fell onto the floor. its really ROFL-ing ♥)! seriously, KHD never fails to exercise my lungs. and and and there's this guy called Lee Seung Gi, okay i'm really slow, and he's super cute in the show. haha. Found out he's a really wonderful singer, winning the Best Male Solo Artist at last year's MKMF Awards, where SJ won the Best Artist of The Year!! ^^ ahahah, my 2 cents worth. ahhhh i so badly want to catch another ep of 2D1N now.

went for work early cos they were in urgent need of people. so SJB went down (nyahaha i invented a name for Chiew (Jane), Bel and I, made up with the first letters of our names, like S.H.E kinda thing. so it stands for Super Junior Buddies! HAHA. Chiew was like. Super Junior Bangkok!?) for work! and of cos, we had major chatting sessions on our fave topics! HAHA. :D ♥ fangirling all over again!

was supposed to meet the class for dinner early but we had to extend our working hours! :( we didn't even lunch out cos we were too busy. anyhow, the system crashed for some moments and we were youtube spamming. haha! :D Chiew's mum thought I liked Ryeowook (she mistook him for KYU! ahhh Kyu). ermm, right. haha, 13 ♥! ;)

met the class at Wheelock's Fish & Co after that for dinner. before updating each other and seeing those newly-appointed recruits camouflaging their botak heads under their caps (okay its just Yewliang). walked around and shopped at Zara and debated to whether we should catch a movie or not... and we finally settled at BK. haha... so another chatting session and laughing at /with each other. really miss those times in class/school/G101 when we could crap and crack any time we wanted. :( sob.

080429 Tues
went all the way down to OCC at Yishun (yes, from the East Sea to Yishun! LMAO its across the island) to support the juniors cos i promised them i would. haha I'M TOO NICE la (okay i should stop quoting Hannie but i can't help it. good qualities are meant for praising :D). was supposed to go down with Reg but she was sick, and Zen was working. so i was miserable cheering the juniors on myself. the supporters were erm, slackish? haha. saw them slacking by the toilet. XD

they should really invest time into some cheering course for the supporters. like a 5min tutorial, teaching them when, what and how to cheer. haha. and of cos, there were clashes of the supporters as well, with some schools (don't wanna mention them) bringing down all the councillors to lead the cheers. ah well.

overall, guys were 2nd & girls were 3rd. Clara, our capt emerged all events 1st place! ^^ So happy for her! and Congrats to the 3 who made it to the Masters this Sat, Clara, Steph and Benedict (J1)! You can do it! FIGHTING ;D

caught up with the juniors, esp with Anqi and Elysia, Jing, Pristine, Calvin... & the teachers, i really miss those times with the team man. esp in KL as well.

2 days ago, Kim Min Soo from Monday Kiz (another Korean grp) got killed in a car accident... It kinda scares me to see how lives are so easily taken in traffic accidents. Like Xu Wei Lun's more than a year back. Teukie, Kangin, Sungmin, Hyukjae and Yesung went to pay their respects. He was only 23! :(

Kangin was evidently the most upset of the lot, his eyes were all red and his mood visibly sullen. :(

and i'm currently trying to English sub Heechul's Happy Shares Co (Manwon Haengbok) from over a year back... started cos i wanted to divert my unhappy thoughts away but i decided i'll just continue with it for the experience. its sooo tedious. no wonder subbing groups have different positions for various tasks, like timers, encoders, translators... I'M DOING EVERYTHING BY MYSELF. yearghhhh. okay ahahah no complaints. i'm only done with 4 parts out of 10. and a 10 min video takes up 1.5hrs of my time. ah well. :D its for the ♥ of HEENIM. and erm, cheers to his re-appearance! HAHA.

and so i've been working the past few days as well as last week. going down town after my infuriating driving lessons with the relief. ok shall talk abt him first. i kinda vented out my frustrations to my auto driving instructor today. haha i'm glad i got him cos he was nice and the cheena-pai. so he was playing all those songs when i was doing my reaction & response. haha so cute. like asking me about Kenji's new songs and stuff. and he told me he saw S.H.E (without S) at the Bangkok airport yest (21/4) alone! like they were holidaying there. so cool. haha. i wished he saw SiHae there but i dont think he'd recognize them anyway, i wouldnt have 1 month ago either. XD lol. so anw, my relief's being so impatient and indifferent! so many horrible adjectives i could describe him with but i shant. haha. its so funny cos the instructor with the car next to me kinda sensed i was tense before the lesson and was like, "He's not here yet? Dont worry he's coming. *pauses and turns around* ah! saw him right? ;) HAVE FUN AH *sarcastically*" lmao. so i guess he's infamous for being pretty notorious. (-┏)

currently hooked onto this song, One, by Epik High, from their 5th Album: Pieces. Yes, the one with the showcase where Heechul went on with his facial hair! click here for the MV. haha Tablo's way too cool in it. and basically cos im biased towards him since he takes really good care of his dongsaengs in SJ and stood up for them when some antis started swearing at SJ. :D Tablo hwaiting! but his lyrics really jolt your inner organs man. i can hear my heart pounding when the songs starts playing. its THAT awesome. :D

hmmm. the Chinese media actually went to report where SJ-M are staying in Changsha?! gosh thats like soo 狗仔 (infamous in tw and hk) and i've seen like a few fancams with fans stalking outside their villa under umbrellas and yelling their names when they come out just for like a breather or to walk over to the other member's rooms??!?

well. thats scary. the management should really seal up the place and let them leave SJ-M in peace! rah! i feel so sad for them. i mean, yes, fan support is good. but not to the extent of like camping outside their doors early in the morning even before dusk (and before they wake up)!

this video shows fans screaming Hankyung's name when he walks over to Donghae's room to wake him up. i seriously wonder what time it was taken... like 6.30am or smth!? and there's another one that shows Donghae trying to open Hankyung's door with his own card. like eh? haha funny la dey. but sheesh, the fans are practically chanting "東海！東海！" hmmm. i'd get scared to be surrounded by fanatics 24/7 man. i know its ironic for me to say this cos i used to chase 56 and 小豬 but i know my own limits, and with due respect to them, no fans shout like right in front of them when they're elsewhere (other than public events) and give them some personal space when they duly need it, for eg, when resting? but unfortunately, temptation's a deadly sin and its just so hard to get rid of it...

work today was pretty pleasant. managed to finish most things :) its been my favourite job so far! haha. chiew came to meet me for lunch (♥ yay) and we had salted fish fried rice! :D i'd really like to try Beijing fried rice though. okay yeah carry on dreaming. and i ate my Korean ice cream again! the Strawberry flavoured one wasn't as nice as the Melon or Banana. bah. i'm so tempted to buy the nicer chocopie. :D hah.

went to Kino after RE and got myself this SJ book from China. darn, it's double the price here. but oh well. its filled with tons of Chi words (and really pretty pictures) so, its a good time to brush up on my reading since now i'm like into Hangul and stuff. haha. then before that, i found the Don't Don Ver 1 (the one with Kangin's head) at CD Rama! :D yay. okay its for collecting. and they were having 10% off so double yay. and then surprise! the girl gave me a poster! like there's still stock!? whoa. haha so triple yay.

and with the new poster i lugged around the whole of Orchard, i'd like to say annyeongkaseyo to 小豬 who has been on my door for slightly more than a year already.

hmmm i actually fell asleep this morn at around 6am with mixed emotions cos i was thinking/worrying about other stuff as well...

surprisingly i ended up dreaming about Kyu. :)

it was a sweet dream, a good one. but i always wonder why its harder to remember sweet dreams and instead, nightmares just come back piercing your heart and remain engraved in your brain.

so i kinda forced myself to rmb something about this pretty amazing dream and i shall keep it to myself. haha. ask me if you wanna know.

LMAO-ed and ROFL-ed and whatever else last night (fri)/sat morn with Chiew and Bel marathon-ing Full House. and we actually finished it! like goodness. haha. its kinda sad cos there's like 1 less thing to watch but i feel so sorry for my cheeks and eyes cos my cheeks hurt like i had Botox and my eyes feel like they've been overworked doing some triathlon or something. ashjhfjhdf.

shall upload pictures soon but the past 2 days have been a blast and i'm happy all over again! ^__^ yay. haha. lunch with Mei on Fri at Shokudo, Raffles City. the food was okay. i still prefer Marche (for their concept) and Sakae though. haha. but the matcha stuff were really nice. the gyoza was overly priced at $5 for 5 pieces (like hello, 鍋貼 in tw costs 20cents per piece! and much much much tastier in fact!) and i had this tofu steak which was SO SALTY. the chicken katsu was super salty too. we tried pouring water over it to like neutralize/wash away the taste but apparently it doesnt work. haha. then shopped for awhile before Mei had to leave :( and then i went for my first night driving lesson! bought Thomas cutlery for my cute little neighbour from Robinsons. haha he told me this morn, "JieJie you really know what i like!" and he's like 3/4yrs? haha so cute right. and he's such a glutton (oops) i hope he utilizes the cutlery well. lol.

headed for driving lesson without my usual instructor. but the one i had yest was v encouraging! :D got me tensed up for awhile but then i guess its always the same for people you arent used to. haha. first time driving in the night so at the beginning instead of switching on the headlights i switched on the windscreen wipers instead. haha! how embarrassing. luckily i managed to execute my U-turns well :D once across a narrow divider in 2nd gear! okay no biggie but i almost freaked out cos i was afraid i was turning too slowly. so, no more kan chiong-ness i hope!

LUCKILY i didnt end up laughing all the way through due to this which always gives me horrigible stomach cramps! Teukie is so adorableeeeeeeee. ahahha and darn when i was trying out the circuit, Kangin's "StopStopStop!" kept appearing in my mind. haha. Sungminnie's the cutest la. he goes, "I died and now I'm alive again!" after Teukie did it in 8mins. 8mins is actually quite long thinking about it. cos i did it like 4/5 times within 20 mins!? haha incl travelling around the circuit and 1 slope practice. okay lah since there weren't other cars to block my path perhaps it was easier. haha.

so i was quite happy yest was one of my more fruitful lessons. haha. then met Chiew and Bel after that so that they could come to my house for the FH marathon! lol it was pure fun cos all of us were laughing like shit. its really shitastically funny. my cheeks hurt so much i fell asleep within 5 mins with my face down on my pillow (like one of the only few times in my life) at 6am when we supposed to break only. HAH. so laughed over all the funny/crappy/retarded/adorkable etc moments with the SJ boys. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ haha they were really so cute last time (cuter THEN, hotter NOW). i love their old days more than now though. :( they seem much more talkative and happy prev when they just made their debut. esp Kibum and Hankyung. Kibum's mostly quiet on EHB now except for his occasional can-you-just-kill-me actions that make your heart skip 92817281728 beats. HK's the most adorable on FH cos he was still a little shaky on his Korean & Hangul and he was bullied (playfully and not crudely) by Kangin and Heechul cos of his pronounciation! haha cuteness attack man.

this was super adorable cos they just came out for this super hot sauna (like in the summer heat, seriously, they're a bunch of mad, hilarious ppl)! HAHA. like 108deg or something. like eh, thats above boiling point leh! they can just start drinking their sweat or something. LMAO. lots of other funny moments with their craptastic English like Heechul going "Yo Man, Wassup, Touch Man! Hey Baby! You're so gorgeous!" and Hyukkie's "Nice weather!" Think that phrase stuck with the other members cos Teukie was like "天氣不錯！" to Tong and her friends when they met him recently and told him they were from SG or something. i was thinking they probably know that phrase in all sorts of languages possible, its really one hell of an ice breaker. HAHA. egads. my cheek muscles are tensing up at this moment already. its really amazing they actually manage to string everything they learnt into one sentence and stuff. HAHA. love love them. and the 2 girls were damn lucky to have stayed in their dorm for 3 freaking mths! okay i dont know if they really did stay there or what but still the time spent together was priceless. and so was Kibum's & Donghae's tears that made heart-wrenching experiences. :( i actually feel so sad i finished watching it so fast. haha i really should go back to it soon. like in June :D

and then i got Chiew and Bel hooked onto their songs. YAY we can all fangirl over them already. seriously its surprising how i love so many of their songs although i started liking them through their variety side. well its like i love Westlife and all but sometimes their new albums dont hit off very well and i usually have 1 or 2 fave songs only. but SJ's Don't Don has like 95% really nice songs (the rest are reallyyyyyyy good too but i just like them less. LOL) . haha. gosh i really need to understand the lyrics man. :( i wanna learn Korean now!!! argh.

and speaking of SJM i'm quite bored seeing them wear the same set of clothes for their whole China trip now. haha. cos its like their promo clothes and they've got erm, 1 set so far?? so basically every pic they're wearing the same thing. so i heard they moved into their new dorm in Beijing already. but i'm like so anticipating SJ to return to Koreaaaaaaaaa :( and Tong made a really timely decision to return to SG man. haha. i want to see the 13 of them hit the stage as one againnnnnn :( and they havent had full attendance for any public perfs this year yet except for Super Show! :'( okay i shant be anti to anyone though ppl are quite disliking Zhou Mi now. and yes, i know Henry's cheeks really get people all excited and stuff (yeah they call out; ahhhh pinch me!) but i'm just neutral to them. and i almost got a shock today when i read from some Msian mag (dated end Mar) that there was going to be ANOTHER Chinese member to be added into SJ cos they clamied SJ was supposed to be a 14-member group from the start anw. like whatev. *does the Danny Noriega sign* and his name's 朱晨辰 or something. erm. chen chen?? o_0;;;

major fandom aside, we had the prawn fishing outing today which was soooo disappointing. :( i almost caught 2 prawns but ended up with nothing. kinda realized there was some tactic to it but it was too late. :( so i was the only one standing out in the rain and trying to hook a miserable prawn. :(

anyhow, we went to Botak Jones after that. food was great, people were even better and i had house red wine :) Brown Brother's still my fave though. haha. chit chatted and fangirl-ed over SJ with chiew and bel and went home and fell slightly drunk on my bed. woke up at 2am to watch SJ again. and i'm still here at the com as you can see! haha.

so basically these few days i've been literally flooding myself with SJ vids. haha and i'm still not getting sick of them. like i think out of the 14 hrs i'm awake (yes i think i sleep like more than 10 hrs each day now) 13 hrs is spent on the com staring at SJ and laughing my heart out! haha. okay i'm contemplating my actions cos i'm like gonna turn this into a SJ pic spam blog soon. but i shall just keep it controlled. haha :D

anyhow i finally cut a fringe! i dont know man it feels different. =D but i like it alot. haha so i'm prob gonna keep a fringe from now on. unless i decide otherwise. but its been like since pri sch that i kept a fringe! for 10 yrs can you believe it! haha.

winter wonderland

so we went to this 'winter wonderland' in sg yesterday at the other side of the island which i very very very seldom frequent. gosh i took like 1hr+ to reach there! and NTU is like even further! with NUS being abt 1hr plus away too. :( why arent there any unis in the east!?

ugh.

so anyway, $27 for 2 hrs snow play and science centre admission ticket. we shd have gotten the 1 hr one la. cos we got really freezing cold inside after 1/2 hr! its a freaking -6 deg! like colder than when i was skiing in Kangwon Land! okay maybe not. cos i was wrapped up like some popiah there... and the warm sun kinda sucked the coldness away :)

so snow city was kinda boring as i remembered. just a small little snow play area and a bigger slope. pathetic man. and the slope was so steep. and we were just able to snow-tube down the slope repeatedly. and the snow really sucked. i dunno what chemicals they used to make it la. its like salty... and hard. so when you scrape your butt as you slide down the slope, it really hurts.

at Everland where they actually had tubes that had backing! so you wouldn't get your butt all wet. and there was a travelator up to the top of the slope ok! much more high-class! ahaha. okay enough of me complaining about snow city.

i so missed the science centre! damn omnimax movie was so ex we decided against it. :( and peewee got herself shocked with the shocker. i think the machine's pretty screwed though. it says 1000 jolts went through her but she didnt feel anything. =/ chin got frozen at the snow chamber so bad his lips went dry and bin was mean enough to keep throwing snow at me.

haha. trying to plan a prawn fishing outing for the class next week. funny why chiew said, "hmmm, wonder how you got the idea." haha sadly it wasnt the way you thought it was!

been busy with holiday scrap booking ideas since there seems to be an offer on photo prints and mum's bugging me to settle the china & korea pictures. which sucks cos i dont have much time to edit the leftover Shanghai pictures. sheesh. its like 3 mths already! haha sian.

driving today was shat cos i got the relief again. once again, i narrated my whole story to mum and indeed she thinks he isnt very encouraging. bleah. my heart never pounded so fast before okay. which sucks. again, cos my confidence on the road has stooped to an all time low! FOR NOW. fortunately & hopefully.

so anyway, i'm going to PS again tmr. ha! like 3 days in a row. ironic cos today this lcd surveyor guy asked me how frequent i visited PS and i was like, err once a month?? sigh. well. dinner with the lovely classmates tmr and Horton! okay. i wasnt very interested in Horton but since it has garnered raved reviews... maybe i shall open my sights to it then! but 3 days in a row is seriously super sian...

:( i'm like dying to go abroad also please. i wanna go hk or tw!! sob sob. and settling all the uni applications have finally let me heave a sigh of relief... until all the letters of acceptance pour in or until i need to bury myself in frustration while i try to appeal for a place. esp with the news going about NTU's triple sharing system and the freshmen intake increasing this year and etc.

anw, watched Vantage Point with Chiew and Bel on Mon at PS. haha okay it was my idea since i wanted to spend my movie money... :S but i didnt know i was going to be there repeatedly for the next 2 days!

okay, so VP was a rather interesting and amusing movie i'd say. but it's like unrealistic la... cos, Dennis Quaid really 死不了! as quoted from this guy beside me. haha. so they rewind the stories of different individuals a few times, like 5 or 6 times which gets you quite frustrated cos you keep seeing the same scenes except in different points of view. but still, it gets 悶 la. and every time it shows 12:00:00 pm, the whole cinema goes "URGHHHH~" haha damn funny.

thought Matthew Fox was quite redundant. haha. :) i cant wait for Street Kings now! looks interesting. and hot hot hot hot hot KEANU REEVES is acting in it! omgosh those Speed days are still fresh in my mind. haha!

so yes back to VP. felt like we kena cheated cos the movie wasnt exactly filmed in Salamanca, Spain as where the Plaza Mayor (where the whole plot begins) is located. so the film crew actually created a duplicate and filmed scenes in Mexico. like hello. different continents, dey! and haha there seemed to be many geographical goofs as well.

other than that, the plot was pretty creative, though resembling alot of the Ocean's series which i love oh-so-dearly. and the car chase scene was cool. haha. so those who havent watched it, keep your eyes peeled till that scene ends! and the funny thing in the goofs part was that i read Dennis Quaid was filmed driving in 1st gear through out. HAHA. =X

Ice-Skating at Leisure Park Kallang!

love these peeps so much and really thankful that God has granted me such a wonderful class :) finally got a chance to meet up with these bunch of people like ever since CNY. yeah it wasn't THAT long ago but considering the ns guys are now on block leave! its the best opportunity to meet up isnt it! :)

so... all those discussions about going to sepang for the f1 grand prix, ubin chalet or even to redang/tioman for a few days proved futile. haha. darn it. no one's ever free for a few days. guys in ns + working individuals = chaos! so no point... hence came this ice-skating outing! haha. anyhow Uncle Paul's under the management of this rink at Leisure Park Kallang together with Kallang Bowl so we got some time free! and the rink was really quiet so it was good for us cos we ended up playing catching with Gland being the catcher till the guy told us to maintain moving in an anti-clockwise manner. =/ haha. splash cold water lor. but luckily it closed late! 12am on eve of public hols! :D

was kinda rusty at first but after awhile it was damn fun! haha and there were some professional youth skaters there who were doing spins so gracefully! *envious* haha.

ah well had so much fun joking around with them and hanging out and trying to teach those who couldn't ice-skate... i really hope there'll be a roller-blading outing some time! HAHA.

Mum's birthday bbq dinner at Godpa's on Fri! had some wonderful food esp this marinated meat from Mmmm's (its supposed to stand for marinated meat and much more, i think)! yay i love barbecues! haha and korkor Darryl taught me a good method to test the marshmallows! haha.

so NUS Open Hse came and went. i guess my options are pretty much fixed, shall just try to do the applications asap. Went to school yest for stuff and talked to Mr Ho and Mr Yoong. haha gave me a fright man. Mr Ho's his funny self. i really miss school. :(

and it gets quite boring nowadays cos im still jobless and most people are working :( blah.

anyhow, my F21 items came today! like just! yay my dress is kinda short though. my gold wallet's just so gold. haha.

came back from my driving lesson and felt pretty demoralized. stressed once again. :( my hand and foot coordination sucks. blah maybe i shd just change to auto. and practicing consistently is so impt! i've not been driving for 12 days and i'm like rusty alr. grrr... more lessons needed but mum doesnt wanna sponsor me. :(

i hope it'll be better on thurs!
darn. threadless is having USD$9 onwards sale. and im broke. :( ok i shd get more 'dressier' tops instead. haha!

yesterday, well 2 days ago. after coming back from IDP at RELC, i met with a car accident. although i suffered no serious injuries, somehow mentally its quite... hmmm, i'd say. horrendous. its just that first-time experience that gives you a jolt in your senses. like... you never knew life could be so fragile, and anything could happen in 1 split second.

so it happened like this, Dad was driving along the ecp and the next car in front was like 50m away? so he accelerated... and somehow, when he did. i got an ominous feeling suddenly sprouting out in me. its just like, crap, why did Dad do that?! and luckily i wasn't asleep! cos usually i'd sleep in the car and all. and then this taxi driver stopped in front. like all of a sudden i dont know why. so since Dad was travelling at quite a fast speed, the braking distance he needed was further right? (yea BTT stuff!) and he did manage to stop in time. barely missing the damned taxi in front.

BUT.

the cars behind didn't. so another car smashed into Dad's boot like 1 sec later, and another damned taxi smashed into that car a millisecond later. so its like double impact. and of cos since i was sitting behind, i experienced the most impact. and the horrible thing was, my seatbelt wasn't on! so i jerked forward and hit my head against the front seat. i guess it wasn't that serious till i got some concussion but it did hurt to some extent. Thank God for cushioned seats. and then i kinda sprained a little of my neck cos of the impact. it was one blardy huge BANG.

like ugh.
mentally it has been a nightmare.
physically, i think i'm suffering symptoms of mental trauma.
that i get random chest pains and headaches.
a slight one, so i guess nothing much to worry about.
Mum says unless i start puking then its not so bad.
:(

i'd never want to experience it again.

so the car will be sent for repairing on Mon. and the first thing Mum asked me was, so are you frightened to drive cars now?

well. my immed answer was, NO LA!
because i think i'm kiasee enough and hence i drive very carefully. and hopefully other road users will also be kiasee enough to drive smartly and responsibly! sometimes, i just dislike the driving etiquette of taxi drivers! they horn at learner drivers like their road belongs to them... and then they get frustrated when people unintentionally hog the road, and then when an accident happens, they try to get out of it fast when its their fault! like this maid who got killed along East Coast Road a few weeks ago.

like wth. and a taxi lost control and hit her until her leg got detached!?
how bad can that be!?
and the thing is that it happened so near my house... it could have been anyone close i knew, esp my grandmother and my other family members living 1 street away!

so the boot of the car's quite badly dented. and hopefully there'll still be a car to use when i get my license.

i pray that the mental trauma of some sort will disappear soon.
i wanna go driving so badly now. :(

ok some random pictures i took with my phone while testing the mosaic function. haha ok didnt turn out very nice cos they were taken from a mag. =X

56! haha 孟哲's face got disfigured man! i couldn't even recognize him at first sight!

today was spent taking my cheque from the Sentosa Flowers job and then meeting Chiew at Amoy for lunch! ahhh the nasi lemak was as good as usual. but... again... the drumsticks were sold out! :( and although we came earlier than the prev time, there was no more egg! sad sad. anyhow the nice Uncle gave me 1 more otah and 1 fish cake to replace the egg. and more ikan billis! haha super nice and yummy.

met Bel at Bugis after that for Step Up 2. haha. So... it was pretty good. for the dance moves. storyline was typical. haha. some dance scenes were really commendable. yes yes, such as the one with Channing Tatum battling against the female lead. haha the trampoline in the middle of the floor was cool man. and the rain scene. which is the climax la. but it seems like they danced on mats and not the real streets. haha cheat! but okay since it'll be slippery and they'll get injuries and stuff.

so basically it had no link to the first instalment. it was okay i guess. the normal eye candy and the female lead and blah blah. hmmmm. been catching movies lately that lack proper, strong storylines which will leave hard impressions on you. rah! nvm next week's Vantage Point with Chiew and Bel! haha. pretty many nice movies coming up soon.

anyhow Bugis Street's getting boring selling the same type of clothes. am so desperate to get clothes that are hardly found in sg anyway. darn! like so little F21 sprees nowadays. i need retail therapy! :( and so so so craving for sushi!

yesterday was a normal day, rushed out of the house to meet Bel (who was like 45 mins late!) at vivo for movie and some attempted shopping. haha. i usually spend the bulk of my money at PageOne getting mags anw. clothes are getting sooo expensive.

so we caught The Leap Years... which was okay. nothing v fantastic. yes advertising usually sways your decision. haha with all those interviewees on chn5 going "yes, everyone should watch it, its a really good movie. its reallllyyyyyyyy good." but it was okay. Ananda Everingham was good looking, didnt like his long tresses fantastically tho. hah!

it was perhaps a little draggy and cliched. sadly. would probably look forward to Step Up 2 and Vantage Point coming up soon! haha. Patrick Dempsey's Made of Honour looks super cute. lol. saw the trailer yest.

then we walked around and around. sadly couldnt find anything to buy. so we decided to eat ice cream just as we were nearing Ben & Jerry's. haha. so then Bel nudged me to look in front cos the blur me was like staring into B&J's already. and i was like. who's that? some SA person? and then i saw...

okay at first i didnt see her. so there was this filming crew as well. and so coincidentally, as quoted from The Leap Years "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous - Albert Einstein", yeah they went into B&J's too! haha. we were not fans trailing them okay. i emphasize that. lol. so we thought they were gonna like take a break and eat ice cream too! cool right... yeah so we left our bags on this seat like near the windows and went to order our sundae... and then. everything happened. haha. they took out the cameras set and started filming! like goodness gracious. haha we're like the backdrop you know! i was telling chiew we should get paid for being extras on their show. tsk! anw... TPH was sitting like right beside me cos he eventually settled into another empty seat there. and Bel on my left. haha.

but the scene didnt involve him, only Ann Kok and her reel son, who was so adorable, so TPH had to pretend to use the newspapers to cover his face, cos he was the nearest to the camera. haha damn funny! cos he was covering himself and then the asst director kept saying, "Ping Hui, sorry you have to cover yourself!" and then he'd give us this raised-eyebrows-to-sigh look... cos we were giggling at the comment. haha. then once i was like looking over to him, and then he gave this funny expression. dunno why he kept looking over to our side. maybe cos our sundae looked super delicious and his drink was just boring. hah!

so at first they were filming in from the entrance so perhaps our full profiles werent taken. and also cos TPH's newspaper helped to cover us. but after a few scenes, and some of the small boy crying... (he was damn pro la! we didnt even know he started crying...like there was no need for his mother to help him to cry or smth) they decided to turn the camera to face us! like wth! i was calm and collected throughout ok. haha TPH's not like my absolute favourite but ok la, i like him as an actor. so he was like looking over occasionally and Bel was fidgeting trying not to get taken by the 鏡頭... and then yes, suddenly the cameras were facing us! and so Bel was asking the filming crew, 可以走嗎？and i was like halfway through my waffle biscuit! rawr! haha i went WHAT?! and then she like tried to siam away from the 鏡頭 alr. sian. haha so i had to like swallow the biscuit and chuck it in my mouth. so unglam please. i bet TPH was like laughing at us for being so frantic or something. haha.

basically we left the place after that. like half an hour of stardom eh! haha. quite cool. it was purely coincidence. the times i'd be 1m away from someone of celebrity status would usually be on purpose! haha. didnt ask him for a photo cos they were like busy filming anyway. and he wasnt 羅祥 or 56 or... someone else! haha. but it was just so funny. haha. the whole time we were at B&J's.

those days

got a new layout done, barely touched photoshop except for selection of colours. haha. not that extravagant as compared to the prev one though. so shall just settle for a simple one with tables.

the prev one is still, and will always be, my most proudest work. haha!

haha the 4 kids minus rachel. we're still sitting at the 'children's table' at family dinners anyway, unless there's a table big enough to accommodate everyone. but usually there isnt. hah.

they have changed so much over the years, and many a time, reminiscing the past does bring back good ol' memories... those innocent, naive and carefree days where worrying was never common.

dad was saying he caned me once when i was 7 yrs old cos i was super rebellious (eh? doesnt sound like me can! haha) . he even told Aunt Jessie my whole arm swelled like some sweet potato. i cant even remember what happened exactly. i guess the human brain really chooses to dispose horrible memories that have the potential of plaguing us our whole lives. sometimes, there are so many things that you'd like to remember dearly, cherishing moments that occur once in a lifetime and embracing those which in days to come will frequent our lives.

yet there's so much a capacity to the human brain... sometimes dementia hits, old folks go senile, Alzheimer's strikes... and so many more unfortunate occurrences.

if only brains were like computers, where you could increase the internal memory or store it elsewhere in a portable HDD.

if only the real world was a magical realm, cos i'd really like to own a pensieve. and then, with just a flick of the wand, i get to travel back in time, and relive those wonderful moments that "eternalize" themselves in our cells.

hmmm. maybe the wonders of science will indeed enable us to do so one fine day.
hopefully, it'll be before i turn senile and grow wrinkled and white.
and by then, maybe i'll be rich enough to travel into space with Virgin Atlantic.
and dispose my unhappy pensieve and let it self-destruct in the universe above.

overall, thank God for that improvement in my results. i'm happy for physics esp!
but sad in 2 subjects which i didnt manage to achieve my targets of.
1 being a horrible, incorrigible... hmmm, i'd say, nightmare.
other than that, i guess i'm pretty ok with my results.

hopefully, things will turn out for the better!

ntu open house today with classmates. haha. had so much fun joking and playing around with them! miss them lots man! sadly the guys cant enter uni with us. haha and by the time they do, we'll be their seniors already. also saw some familiar faces from tk...

had lunch at kfc jurong point, oh that place is so alien to me please, before heading down and exploring the campus + going for talks. dinner at fish & co imm was really cool cos we had a superb waiter! haha almost wanted to fake Jerome's bday (his was next) and he came by and asked, oh is it someone's bday?? haha it'll be a great show to watch then but sadly it didnt materialize. another guy had his bday though. my first time seeing the bday surprise thing..the staff were really hip and enthusiastic! haha it was hilarious, i'd probably never wanna go fish&co on my bday! haha.

okay friends do create smiles on my face.
thanks so much girls for the emotional support, i really needed it.

to all those results recipients, esp those who did well,
really proud of you guys... i guess slogging does help,
and luck as well... but ah well. :)
as long as we're happy and even if we aren't yet,

China Part IV

so to take my mind off the dreaded AHEMs out tmr, shall just try to keep myself occupied with this... haha. driving today was okay i guess. though i hate it when im at slopes cos i tend to take slightly longer to move off and then... the car rolls back. haha. and kerb side stopping is another thing! rawr. it still takes practice for me to gauge where to stop. haha. going to start S course and crank courses soon! and thanks Lena for exchanging your date with me :)

Day 6: 9 Jan 08 Wed 乌镇>上海
breakfast was really yummy! the American breakfast spread was super fulfilling... i couldnt remember the exact details but i knew i kept going for more! and then i had a bad tummy ache. haha walked back the path outdoors and into the chalet room! immersing myself in that type of atmosphere was really an experience one-of-a-kind! and luckily it wasnt too chilly so it was relaxing and comfy walking outside.

so after breakfast it was walking around the 西栅景区 and just soaking into this 古镇 feel! its really very 小桥流水~ no cars... no pollution! very exhilarating! so it was basically more exploring of the place. its like one oval shaped island... with the canals and all running through the middle. the prev night, we walked on one side of the canal, and only managed to finish the same side the next day. but sadly it was really off-peak so... it was hardly any fun without people around enjoying it with you...

then we went to this 三寸金莲馆 Museum of Bound Women's Feet. which was really interesting. cos they had collections of different types of shoes which women with bound feet in the past wore... and they kinda showed the process of binding feet... and all the types of shoes through the ages, for what occasions, different classes... it was quite gross in the sense that the shoes were REALLY tiny.. like smaller than anyone's palm! (not a toddler though) but still absolutely tiny. and it was heart-wrenching to imagine the agony any olden day women had to go through just to look demure... and according to 元师傅, his mother bound her feet. and they could never let anyone see it, even when washing their feet, they had to do it discreetly. imagine not being able to enjoy foot massage proper! ouch.

the rest of the place was ancient, very vintage... very 古老. it was cool cos you know you'd never get to experience it elsewhere, and what other best place would be then in China itself?

the only post office was really cute. hahaha. and i loved the mailbox! :)

they had this 麻将 table there. haha will surely sit until butt pain. but sadly no kaki to play with me! :(

so we went exploring, saw these fish-catching black birds, which i first watched them on 世界那么大. haha. its like they tie a string at the bird's neck so when the bird flies into the water to get the fish, it wont swallow the fish and would have to spit it out to their owners. didnt manage to see the birds in action though. so we walked around the scenic area and explored 白莲塔 and a temple... then we left before lunch so that we could head down nearing Shanghai for lunch.

went for lunch at 同仁堂药膳. which was like... very healthy and herbal authentic Chinese dishes! it was a superb tantalising lunch which got us sweeping the food off the plates! for the record we actually finished everything there for the 1st time! its like those dishes which you can only enjoy at privileged, raved Chinese restaurants.

and then... they brought us to this room for a free foot massage. HAHA. while a TCM 师傅 came to 把脉. lol. so the elders got trad. chinese medicine for themselves. which cost A BOMB man. and i was supposed to get some health supplements as well but Mum 刷爆 her credit card. thats exaggerated right. haha. the massage was really refreshing after those many days of walking. was a great reward for Mama who's like almost 80 and has been tahan-ing rough terrain...

同仁堂's well renowned in China it seems, and it was their 师傅s who actually cured PM Lee Hsien Loong of his lymphoma. and it was the help of TCM which kinda boosted and aided the recovery. thats what i heard...

after that we reached 上海 and met our LG! who had a friend working at CCTV (i suppose) and in charge of all the foreign stars! walao! so the weekend we were in 上海, there was an awards ceremony with S.H.E, Jolin etc and her friend was IC! ARGH! and she was saying Rain was supposed to come but he wanted to bring his entourage of like 20 people and they requested to stay in some 6* hotel which was out of the station's budget! damn cool right! and since she was a tour guide, her friend had asked her to help with the booking! lol.

so anyway, we were at this 宋庆龄 Memorial place, where her grave is... and we found out lots of her history as well. and there was this park so we walked around there and enjoyed the scenery.

everyone was so full of respect for her... our LG was telling us that even the trees, miraculously, showed their respect to her... its like some unusual phenomenon cos you could really notice the leaves all faced toward her statue.

after that it was a hurried trip to the 外滩 The Bund... cos it was foggy there was nothing much we could see so we just walked along... and it was starting to get cold! that weekend was not very 暖, in fact it was the weekend just right before Shanghai had their snow storms!

after that was a simple dinner and we had to rush to sit the cruise as 元师傅 had actually 'predicted' that the fog was gonna be less than the next day's. which was true la. so although we had a long day, i guess it was worth it taking the last cruise down 黄浦江! :) but before the cruise, we actually went to the 大剧院杂技秀 Acrobatics Show. which... was similar to the one we saw in 杭州. but ah well. this time, there were more daredevil stunts. below's the picture of 5 motorcycles in the metal ball! it was crazy man. though i almost fell asleep during the usual acrobatics stuff, i was wide awake during this one! i actually got the video of the 5 motors inside so... shall upload it soon. :) hahah really made our hearts skip a beat!

so then, we took the 游船 to cruise down the 黄浦江! loved the night view so so much! reminded me of the scenes in 轉角 where 心蕾 and 秦朗 got drunk! haha. and there was this cute capt on board! haha. so anw... it was all dark and slightly foggy so the pictures hardly turned out nice but this one below's my fave. kept going up to the deck though it was freaking chilly to take pretty pictures. Mum the scaredy cat kept grumbling that it was freezing her butt off so she and Mama stayed in the viewing deck only. haha. sad.

it was really late by the time the cruise ended, like... almost 11? everyone was exhausted esp our driver who drove like... super long that day. so we checked into the hotel and as usual i'd catch my daily dose of tv! haha the shows there are super entertaining la. haha. Hotel for the day: 云悦酒店 (click) which was a 5 min walking distance from 城隍庙! its huge la that hotel! was quite happy with it cos they had lcd tvs in the rooms once again! and its a new hotel which opened less than 1 yr ago as well!

China Part III

i finally have the resources and energy to continue my China travelogue! haha okay its like 2 mths since i first stepped into Chinese ground! sigh. okay nvm i shall try to chiong everything cos there are still pictures from the last 2 days that i haven't cleared. so here goes!

Day 5: 8 Jan 08 Tues 杭州>乌镇
got up early for the normal, usual daily breakfast menu and then headed off to 西湖 West Lake for our cruise... which isnt exactly a cruise. just a boat ride la. haha. but the morning walk was exceptionally refreshing and i enjoyed myself alot breathing in the fresh air... which felt so freaking pure and clean. haha. its like, some auto purifier!

ok first picture of the day with a statue at the park beside 西湖. haha. lotsa other exchange students at the lake area! lol.

so we did more walking around before our LG (the one which i liked least) started hurrying us cos the boat was gonna leave. :S ah well. not enough time to enjoy the pretty scenery. sadly, it was still very foggy. and hence you couldnt see very far.

the boat ride was seriously super boring. cos you just toured the lake seeing practically the same thing... hills and trees. so i fell asleep 3/4 of the time. and because our very horrible guide forced us to catch a boat which was leaving and filled 4/5 of Korean tourists, i didnt understand and appreciate anything during the introduction of the lake at all. what a waste. and i was utterly disappointed that i didnt manage to get my bird-cooing whistle. it was like. RMB10 only please! and when we got to the other end they werent selling it anymore. :( sigh. so once again, albeit the many wonderful compliments and recommendations of 西湖 esp by 老师, i was kinda feeling indifferent to what i was experiencing. maybe coming during another season would be more appropriate to enjoy the surroundings.

after that, we proceeded on to this 龙井茶园 Longjing Tea Plantation to buy some very famous 龙井茶! for once i actually felt happy drinking tea! it was extremely enjoyable! haha. as in... the taste was subtle, yet refreshing and empowering. and you could actually drink it with cold water! we bought some home... but till now i dont seem to have drunk any at all. :( Mum's been dragging and saying we still have to give it to 老师. haha. sian.

the ladies there were really nice cos they were somehow... genuinely friendly. maybe cos its like this plantation is under the 梅家... where everyone there is surnamed 梅. and you HAVE to call them 姑娘 and not 小姐 cos its absolutely disrespectful to do so.

lunch was at this fishing village place... some sort like the old Pasir Ris area where you could pay to enter and catch fish. we had this 红泥砂锅 and 东坡肉 which was super fatty & oily & salty but damn delicious! the herbal chicken was really nice too! something which is found readily in SG but of a different taste!

they had these fish which were cut open and let out to dry... quite cool seeing just the skin of the fish, its guts and intestines all gone... its like some mirror image... but of the same fish. yucks at that thought. haha.

then as usual, the daily commission-earning scheme brought us to this Gem Stone Factory. which by chance and unexpected fortune, allowed us to meet the boss who's from Penang and spoke Penang Hokkien. so Mum and Mama were very happy cos they could finally converse with someone close to home and in a dialect they could handle well. as for me, i sat there stoning. haha. the guy who attended to us first was quite 溅 though. he was like, 拜托，要帮我在我老板说些好话，我才可以出国发展! after he heard that we were from SG and their Penang boss was planning to expand into SG. :S so anyway they talked for pretty long, exchanged business anecdotes and stuff. and then he brought us out to look at his jewellery. gave us some great discounts which got the staff saying, 老板！这里是不可以折扣的！是定价的！and their boss was like 没关系，他们是我新加坡来的朋友! haha. 0_0 Mum wanted to get the rubies at a great price but she felt that there was no need to... ah well. Mama got some nice necklace which was made of some white stone thing.. haha. quite cool though.

later on after leaving the Gem Stone Factory we were on our way to 乌镇 and on the way we stopped by this Chrysanthemum Factory Outlet which sold chrysanthemum tea in the buds itself. their 八宝茶 is really nice! i drink it often cos Mum says i can open only packet-packed stuff. =/

so after a very long journey of 3-4 hours... we finally reached this pretty ulu place!!! which was 乌镇. truth be told, i never heard of this place until i went there. and after i came back where i did more research... must click!!! and here too!!! its very tourism-infested. but i guess its good cos our driver 元师傅 told us that it used to be filled with slumps and murky water... but after much upgrading its become a tourist destination and one of the few remaining 水乡s (water-towns) in China. but with its 7000-years strong history, it was utterly unbelievable to even have your presence there! overwhelming man!

haha just some cute toilet signs.

the time we went was super off-peak. there was hardly other souls around! haha. and the view wasn't to our pleasing cos it was all foggy... sadly.

we had to sit a boat to the other side where the hotel and the main scenic area was. which i thought was quite cool. its like immersing yourself in a theme park!

the view was superb, but only on the 1st day. 2nd day was much more foggy though. anyhow, heard Tom Cruise filmed Mission Impossible 3 there... thats a typo there. or maybe it was 西唐 another water-town in China. haha but S.H.E's 中国话 was indeed filmed here! uber cool.

so explored a little of the area. our hotel rooms were those on the right in the picture below. it felt like we were living in shop houses of the past! i guess it gave me the strongest impression cos its so reminiscent of those olden days, like those in 豆腐街 you see on tv! super cool! the buildings were ancient as well... its like. a trip back to the past. really. and to know that its not some filming venue, or some fake place that was built to entertain tourists and those money-rich makes it even more special. :)

the night view was not too bad either. except for the fact that the fog was worse and you hardly could see 10m in front of you. but the lights illuminating the place were pretty. really gave it an amazing atmosphere.

dinner was horrid. at this small restaurant, almost like some budget meal. and the food was salty and oily though 元师傅 asked the waitress to put 少盐少油.. they treat it like 耳边风. haha. Mum wanted a shot to show the traditional dining furniture. lol!

this guy was really cool. he'd go round the whole place carrying this gong and a lantern. and he'll strike the gong at every hour. so it depends on where he is at that hour to strike the gong. quite cool but it was creepy esp at night, all dark, with so little tourists/other people around. almost like a night walk but it was... another authentic kinda feeling. haha!

and this was our small little chalet for the night. beats any chalet i've ever stayed at! its called 通安客栈... and i was so impressed by it! there's another toilet beside this room Mama slept at downstairs. just without a bath. the steps were steep however, and i had to lug my luggage up! haha.

this is the master bedroom upstairs. i love love the bed frame! pretty! and the lanterns were really soothing as well. the bathroom had a shower and bath! damn nice.

and there was a small area outside the master bedroom where you could rest... haha and it became Mum's turf for the night.

took these from the fridge in the room. haha! sadly i didnt see any in Shanghai. :(

the last time i was sick was like... 10 days ago?
i seriously have no idea whats wrong with my immune system.
its going haywireeeeeeeeee.

argh. and i just had to force myself to go for driving today.
bah anyhow was quite happy i managed to muster enough strength to clutch in fully at those freaking traffic junctions. and change down in time too! just need more practice... rawr.

driving today was much better, i guess clutch management improves with practice. like duh but sometimes people need good coordination as well! haha. darn i cant seem to gauge when i should brake. i keep braking too late and then its harder to change down the gear. rawr.

my instructor sly says i can drive further to Tampines next lesson. today he surprised me by asking me to take a route which i haven't driven before. felt damn scary travelling in some unknown area. and pressurized cos the rest of the world's utilizing auto cars while i struggle with the clutch esp at traffic lights due to muscle aches and when moving off and accidentally flooring the accelerator.

haha. driving's fun anyway. i wanna drive on the road! but not alone i guess.
got my reserved TP date already! bah!

oh, STAGE is coming to SG. haha the whole flock of fanatics will sure send in their CVs man. haha Royal Princess 1! we go also! lol.

Gerard Butler really reminds me of the Spanish guy on AMI. haha the one that kept kissing everybody. and his accent is so not Irish, more like Spanish!

Jumper
such a confusing movie where all they do is jump, jump, jump. right. haha although Tokyo was very much chocolate for the eyes and Rome and Italy as well... it was basically a movie which lacked a firm storyline. and it just hangs there right at the end. :S yeah there's supposed to be a Jumper 2. i guess its great for travel buffs like me in one sense, you get to see filming locations such as Tokyo, Italy, Rome, Egypt and Mexico, besides USA and Canada. wonder how much they blew on it man. sigh but this big-budget movie was ruined by the horrible plot. bah!

okay, gotta admit the effects were good but it got kinda sickening after awhile cos of the jumping around. haha. ah well, Hayden Christensen's good exercise for the eyes. hah.

anyway i finally got on the road today. whoa stressful man. and some taxi horned at me! argh! just cos i moved off too slowly. well not really but then i didnt see the green light, and like 1 sec later he horned alr la! walaoeh! learner driver cannot see meh!? *!&@*!&@*&! okay. haha. apologize for the ranting. and becos of that i stalled. isnt it worse for pressurizing a learner driver! tskkkkk. haha chiew said they want learner drivers to fail so they wont lose potential customers, if not people will drive themselves around already. hah!

i just hope i wont need to go up to gear 4 unless i'm trained well enough. if not sure panic at junctions one, with the gear-shifting and clutch-engaging. sigh.

today was spent hanging out with the girls :) missed those times man! and i miss school! going back for the choir con to support Mei!

China Part II

okay i'm going very slow at this, but then for keepsake purposes, i'm motivated to continue with my journey! muahahaha :)

Day 3: 6 Jan 08 Sun 无锡>南京
morning breakfast was as usual. mix of american breakfast dishes as well as porridge and other what-nots. and the other group that was with us kept smoking indoors!! for goodness sake. :( choking my lungs man! anyhow, not allowing them to dampen our spirits, heh.

however, we were brought to this Pearl Factory place which sold jewellery and beauty products like pearl capsules and cream. got some cream which so far has been good in getting rid of the pimples! haha. and erm mama bought a pearl bracelet. was pretty happy cos they were like explaining all the stuff to us and we were asked to guess how many man-made pearls were inside the shell, and i guessed correctly! its 20, but differs per shell la. :) those natural ones are of cos of ex and rare, like 3-4 pearls per shell if i'm not wrong. and then they told us how to distinguish between natural and man-made ones.

and then it was already lunch time and we headed for an early lunch as there was another 3-4 hrs of seat-warming on the way to 南京. :)　

see how much food we had! for 2 people! the steam egg on my right was yummy cos they had silver fish 银鱼 inside! and i got my red jacket on Day 1 at 观前街 for RMB29 haha which is S$6! but it spoilt after that day. cos the darn zip was faulty! sigh so wasted. was hoping i could add another one to my collection of 'bazhang' jackets. haha.

and we had this dish as well. it wasnt to my liking actually. super tiny ok! like just 0.5cm bigger than your thumb nail! and you had to eat it with the shell and its like 90% shell there's hardly any meat at all. haha.

so after that we went down to Nanjing 南京, which is the most northern area we're visiting this time round. and after we came back... actually like on the last day we were there in Shanghai, i think it started snowing already! like so wth la. missed it by a few days! and the weather forecast isnt always that accurate after all. ahaha.

first stop after arriving at 南京 was 美龄宫, wife of Chiang Kai-Shek 蔣介石 (click). the Song family was a really prestigious and renowned family in the past, with all the elites occupying spaces as family members. her sister 宋庆龄 is wife of 孙中山... yup. had lots of history sessions when i was there. haha!

thats her pretty room which is so damn spacious. really cant imagine like... 贵人 living inside this mansion in the past! and their King size bed is still quite small.. haha can see our reflection in the mirror.

and her bathroom, where simplicity plays a prominent role. but the deck chair is like... so weird and out of place. lol. a very simple sink and bath tub as well.

later on, we drove by the 梅花山 which actually is nothing much cos its winter and all the leaves have fallen as well as the flowers, except for this species called the Wintersweet, i forgot what our LG told us what it was in Chinese.. oh ya! 腊梅 i think. click for the wiki.. it was pretty and we saw it at 美龄宫 :)

i must add on, i felt that our LG for Nanjing was the best through out. very descriptive with his explanations and stuff and not to the extent where you felt like shutting your ears... which i felt like in Korea. =X but yeah. he's a uni geog lecturer there! haha cool. perhaps he majored in geog and history together! wah thats like... super content heavy la. and so we stopped by this river or lake, im not sure to take pictures against the scenery and the white trees. haha. every single tree in China is half white. like seriously. im still unsure if they get people to individually paint them, tall short thin wide, or its some kind of fertiliser that enables them to grow white bark and to prevent pests or something like that.

we drove by the 台城 and 明城墙 as well, which is a city wall indirectly translated la. and then it was shopping and sightseeing at 夫子庙! which i enjoyed soooo much. haha other than shopping in Shanghai.

the first giganormous ad poster by Metersbonwe with Jay, Will and Angela. ahhaa i think Will looks damn cute in that pose. and their winter clothes are damn gorgeous i cannot tahan. really wanted to buy! :( sigh hhaah that day Giffy was saying SG and Bangkok might snow soon. lol! haha maybe i'll have a chance to wear winter clothes in SG! :D hahah at snow city perhaps. :(

i bought 3 pakets of this 状元豆 which weighs 1.5kg in total. and then mum complained so blardy much cos it was heavy. (ya, 1.5kg heavy compared to her 8kg worth of silk blankets) and then today (13/2) i found out that they all grew mould! didnt put them in the fridge. i feel so upset man. sigh.. but they were really nice to eat la.

i managed to get my dvds from here! so happy got like about 7 movies and 3 hk serials! :D and cheap also! like S$2 for serials and S$1.20 for movies! and they're of super good quality one. not shaky type taken from cinemas. haha.

so Mum anticipated that we'll be buying more and exceeding our budget, we decided to get another luggage. which turned out to be too small. hahaha. even though it was S$7.

we had dinner at this pretty high class restaurant later on. which was like filled with gold walls and gold cutlery and stuff. 6 Jan seemed to be a good day for marriages, saw like 2 couples earlier on in the day and 1 at the restaurant and another at the hotel we were staying at. haha. they had Mickey and Minnie to stand beside the bride and groom! and when VIPs arrived, they released firecrackers! like wah i almost got a shock of my life i actually thought it was some bomb scare. like seriously loud... haha. so grand and cool! even the ceiling is also like painted gold. with gold-plated stuff all over.

food was quite salty as usual. and we had 盐水鸭 which is salt-water duck. it was a cold dish but still salty! but i enjoyed it though.

at night, we checked into 珍宝假日饭店. hahaha and it was more soaking in the bathtub and watching of moreeeeeeeee tv. lol. if im not wrong it was the transparent bathroom type! haha and the curtain luckily this time, was on the inside! heng ah. so people outside cannot threaten to expose you and your flaws! LOL.

Day 3: 7 Jan 08 Mon 南京>杭州
morning breakfast was getting quite mundane with practically the same type of menu la. sad. so early our LG met us and then we went on to the 南京长江大桥. but unfortunately it was like so foggy please! so upsetting. can barely see anything. but fog = less cold. so the elders were very elated that their butts weren't getting frozen. haha.

you can tell it was quite cold still. haha, all our hoods/beanies were in action! and the visibility was quite bad, you can't exactly see the end of the bridge. then we went to the basement after that, where there was this 师傅 painting glass balls. if i'm not wrong, his father was the one who supervised the whole process of building this bridge but didnt live long enough to watch its completion, and as years passed, the quality and standards of the bridge deteriorated and there was a lack of funds to renovate and upgrade it. so the 师傅 is doing some charity thing to sell his intricately hand-painted glass balls to raise funds to maintain this bridge.

so our LG was saying we were quite 'lucky' (dunno whether true or not) that the 师傅 was in that day and if we wanted to write anything inside the glass ball we bought, like our name or some auspicious saying, we would benefit from his proficient calligraphy la...

but its really cool cos they gotta paint it inside-out? through this small hole at the bottom of the ball where you place the stand... ya you gotta paint through it. but its not cheap. Mama got one at S$40... but it was pretty. and the ones selling at this Vivo China stuff fair are like daylight robbery la! they're selling like 5 times more and i bet it was drawn by students, cos those by the students are obviously much cheaper than the 师傅's. haha.

after visiting the Yangtze River Bridge, we went to this Jade Factory... yeah factory again. haha and extortion almost begins. browsed through as usual. made a jade Snake keychain thing with my name stamp. :) pretty cool. then had lunch there and we were off to 杭州. if i dont remember wrongly the journey from 南京 to 杭州 was the longest of all. :( hahah oh, some anecdote. the toilet doors there were quite short. i dont know the exact reason behind it. maybe to save on materials? haha so when people stand up you can see their heads, which is quite a funny sight. haha.

and then we finally arrived and met our LG which i disliked the most out of all of them. haha, ah well.

i guess this is the 钱塘江大桥 which we saw. quite cool huh! got a train running below. haha i managed to capture the moment the train passed by. went for dinner at this restaurant which we didn't enjoy as much as the rest cos there were these boisterous and rowdy waiters who'd stand in the room we were eating in through out the meal. i mean, yes, its like based on service standards but they dont need to like stare at us eating! it was really uncomfortable and awkward. and then they'd like push each other around the corridor outside and stuff. :( sigh spoilt my appetite.

after that we headed for this 西湖之夜 performance. which was of like Chinese acrobatic acts and musical stuff. quite nice la. and the interior of the theatre was well-furnished, seemed quite new to me. i think it was quite ex... like S$20+ per ticket.

haha this boy did a super balancing act la. and he failed the first time to toss the spoon from his platform (where his legs were on top of) onto this bowl on his head. then i took a superb picture on his successful 2nd try! i'm like so pro la! hahah. okay =X

ya so basically it was some acrobatics show and some musical stuff. saw a 达芙妮 Daphne (click) shop around the corner of the theatre! like wah first time in China! i was so upset i didnt see anymore in Shanghai :( haha saw some S.H.E ads there and i love the song they did for the endorsement, 好心情 Just Be Yourself! :D its a happy song haha! so i got a bag at a good price! like S$20 only! i wanted to get their footwear but its mostly boots for winter. :(

and it was late already, so we checked into our hotel 杭州江景戴斯大酒店. haha the tv at this hotel sucked the most cos there were lesser cable channels, and they kept having this "Welcome to Days Hotel" sign which appeared like after you channel-surfed. damn irritating.

this is a horribly hook-able game. urgh. haha. which makes my next most-wanted item, besides a Coach long wallet, is a Wii! okay i mean my DS isn't that old, and its serving me well, just that the joy of getting muscle aches due to Wii-ing is overwhelming!

darn i so need to change my layout. been sourcing for inspiration now! and erm yes, on my way to completing my China travelogue. going at snail pace cos there's dozens of pretty ones (much better than those taken saying annyeonghaseyo, but nevertheless, the latters' has gorgeous ones as well) and lots of captions to add!

anyhow, dinner at cousin's was spent relishing Wii-time. haha. alright, BTT tmr. :D

urgh the horrigible incorrigible viruses omnipresent in the air kinda disgusts me every time i think of them. once again, oh great world, i'm sick. yes for that record the past 3 times in the prev 2 weeks i was sick were all before i had to report to work! bleah. whats wrong with my immune system. dammnit shit.

and because of my throat infection plus idunnowhatelse, i couldnt send Elis off! :( she's on her way now to Perth anyway and i wish her all the best in whatever she does :)

Juno's (click) been such a cute movie with those indie rock tunes that gives a whole lot of other feeling into the movie. go watch it! its realllly nice. haha. next up shall be P.S I Love You! (click) :D

hopefully i'll get to watch Jumper (click) next week as well! Anyone Else But You by Ellen Page and Michael Cera from Juno's super adorable. go listen to it! i cant seem to find the full song... so argh.

okay i dunno why i just felt like saying that. haha. cny binging has been a whole great fun. like oh great! :D :D :D minus the pounds and calories and fats and other nonsensical scientific terms related to the human diet. :(

work's been pretty sucky. alright i wouldn't call it work since its just some part-time job and i'm still holding onto my horses thinking whether i should commit to a temp job full time and sacrifice my driving. but i dont want to! haha even though it sucks having to get up early (i.e 7.30am), yes, in contrast to schooling life when 6.30am is the norm. hah! but then yea it sucks! and then chionging for the bus since the workaholics are all ready to pile into it. i wonder why buses dont have some weight-exceeding device that beep when its overloaded.

anyhow! work's been fun cos i've got great company! haha the colleagues have been quite nice and there's chiew, danny, bryan and others and a wonderful boss like Mel! haha.

p.s we went on the luge yesterday as well as the skyride! :D
heh. oops. but it was superbly, amazingly supercalifragilisticexpialidocious fun! lol. and i was practically screaming till i got hoarse on the skyride cos it was so damn blardy high and there wasn't any protective netting below you, not like the netting will help much but it works loads on the mental component for me! and much more laughter after Danny hit his head against the safety bar. and chiew and i sat wrongly! haha damn funny. okay. i should go back to my China travelogue. :)

experienced deflation. sad. :( unlike the other 23-ers. seemed like their angpaos inflated. ah well. anyhow, felt this year's CNY was perhaps better than last year's.

i seemed to be on my lappie watching shows/movies the whole of last year's. haha! more talking and interacting this year, esp with Giffy's (Thai friend) friends who were Korean. haha so had topics like skiing and stuff. and we played mahjong tog! which i lost 1.60 :( hahah the Korean guys were quite pro. and one of them had at least a 90% resemblance to Masi Oka! oh man! haha one of their names really cool. Kyu Sang i thing. lol. then Sharon asked how to say handsome guy in Korean and he was like "Kyu Sang" haha and she actually repeated! so funny! and then Cindy introduced us to him and he kept repeating our names in the order we were sitting from the mj table. lol.

Giffy just asked me to try a superb glass and i got hooked! but i still prefer the very first glass i finished. usually i'll just grab a sip from the parents but now its different! i'm legal! haha. that was funny. this woman at Cheers didn't allow a girl who was 17 years and 364 days old to get a Bacardi. and she kept arguing that she was gonna turn 18 the next day. which was true la. although it was 11pm and she'd turn 18 at 12am. but ha! the woman was like, no no. you must pass 18 to buy it. OUCH. :(

and then 初二 i had this Sentosa Flowers job stint. going there again on tues and sat with chiew. i hope i don't lose my voice and get sick. been eating too much good food. haha. had dinner last night with Godpa at Roland's. heard its 80 per pax man! great food!! yums. and i want to eat more 魚生! just had my 1st yest. omgoodness thats so long since 除夕 please! i'm in agony! and there's only like 15 days to eat it. haha. and i got to try 盆菜 Poon Choi!

sat night was this party at Uncle Paddy's which Ix Shen attended. HAHA. right. thats why Giffy and his friends were there. had class gathering at Tong's yest. felt so good to see familiar faces again! haha. esp the army boys with their crew cuts. lol.

China Part I

i finally decided to sit down and type this out slowly... its been exactly a month since i stepped into China and i'm horribly missing the place! hmmm, except for qualms about the quality control controversies, i'm basically very happy about everything else! and the experience was great! perhaps i'll really go back in 2010 when Shanghai's having their IT Expo! they're already selling merchandise for this worldwide convention thing where the best and the highest-end technology flock to Shanghai to exhibit! damn cool. alright, shall start the ball rolling! *happy happy* but i've only edited up till Hangzhou so there's still the Shanghai pics left!

Day 1: 4 Jan 08 Fri 苏州
took the China Eastern flight out of SG at 10am! so much hype about Temasek Holding's bid of MU shares but then again there's China Airline's competition! haha. so anyway luckily it was a pretty smooth flight and we reached Shanghai Pudong Airport 上海浦東國際機場 at 3plus? and darn there was no freaking aerobridge! so we had to take the bus in the chilly weather (ok perhaps not THAT chilly but around 8deg) to the immigration area. and then had to wait irritatingly long to clear immigration can! oh man cannot tahan! like 45mins to 1 hr! haha :( and then i noticed something on the immigration card... they called people other then themselves ALIENS?! whoa. sounds harsh at first, but then again its just weird although dictionary.com says this;

1. a resident born in or belonging to another country who has not acquired citizenship by naturalization (distinguished from citizen).

so later we went to meet our tour guide... and ok it was a pathetic thing in a way that our tour group only consisted of the 3 of us, my grandma, mother and me but it was good cos we had our own minivan and all. there was actually another group of people whom we were supposed to join but they kinda kicked us out cos they wanted to be on their own and if there was more than 10 people everyone kinda had a $100 rebate kinda thing. so that group had 13 people, if they kicked us out they were still in the win-win situation but then we'll get $100 less lor. which was like... whatever la. anyway later part in the journey they had some 'karma'. haha but they were quite 欠扁 and cocky! all aunties and uncles~ ah well. and all of them smoked! :S

yep so anyhow we finally found our driver 元师傅 and then set off for Suzhou 苏州 straight. and it was about a 2 hr drive there so in the end we reached at dinner time! passed by the Suzhou Industrial Park 苏州工业园区 and the 金鸡湖景区 but we didnt go down cos i think it was closed alr. haha.

which to our horror was of 6 dishes excl rice! omg! and the serving size is wayyyyy huge as well. obviously the rest of the days later we didnt manage to finish everything. and all the food goes to waste :(

so after dinner we went to 观前街 to shop! yay shopping on the first day! and actually every single day after. not like korea. shopping in like 1 out of 7 days only. so pathetic. haha. and it was there where our local guide met us as well... since we went to 5 different places (excl 乌镇 cos our driver brought us around there) we had 5 different local guides...

and this was the S.H.E poster promoting some 观前街 shop i think. haha. so cute. the architecture is really superb! and it was about 8pm! luckily China shops dont close that early unlike other winter countries, where they start closing when night falls.

so i got like 1 pair of boots for like S$16! and another red bazhang jacket.. which i will wear in later photos for 1 day only cos the zip spoiled after that. haha. damn sad but it was S$6 only la! anddd Hello Kitty stuff! haaha although the Sanrio stuff aren't cheaper there. and some more they have those like made by the Shanghainese franchise. and not the original Jap ones. :(

saw the Meters/bonwe shop that Jay, Will and Angela endorse in China! damn cool. they had bigger outlets in Shanghai though. almost went on a shopping spree there but ... ah well, i'll elaborate when i'm at the Shanghai part. haha.

yep i saw this HK car! haha okay sorry i was scared the driver would suddenly come back and hantam me so i kinda just snapped too fast without reviewing and it turned out blur. haha. oops. after that we went back to the hotel...

so this was our hotel 蘇苑飯店! so nice la! it was a new hotel which has been opened for less than 6 months. haha. so pretty they had this pond and pavilion like thing at the center of the hotel there and was surrounded by neon lights at night!

and so that night after showering and cleaning up cos the air there was horrendously polluted. ok maybe not THAT bad but to the extent when you blow your nose and you see black dust mixed with your mucus. haha! yep disgusting kinda description. and i happily watched tv there! their channels are quite entertaining actually, and a whole different kind of entertainment genre.

Day 2: 5 Jan 08 Sat 苏州>无锡
so in the morning we finally had a taste of authentic Chinese breakfast in China. it was quite good actually. good spread of American breakfast type and porridge of some sort. after breakfast, we then went back to the pavilion place to explore. hahah!

and then went out to meet the local guide and mum went to take picture with the renowned-calligraphist painted hotel sign.

so then early we proceeded to 狮子林 which is considered No. 1 out of Suzhou's private gardens. scenic and filled with tourists as usual. haha. saw some Malaysian tourists there too. quite cool.
if i'm not wrong it was declared a UNESCO site as well. :) i guess i like those 古代建筑. really amazing to think that people were living in like these kind of architecture in the past!

haha saw a sign which reminded me of 一支獨秀! lol.. i think its 峰 la..and at this drinking tea place we had the most expensive tea in China, the 碧螺春! it actually has some queer but quaint taste and i kinda enjoyed it though i hated those hairs that come from the leaves.

can 欣赏 those antique furniture man! haha but sometimes too ancient to me already. yep, and this is the 碧螺春. heard you cant buy it cos its too ex or something. but this tea place for the elderly (yes, i was like the youngest there, next youngest my mother!) had it and you just had to pay for the water or something. haha its like 福利 for the old. but it was only exclusive to like a small group of people, so luckily there was only 4 of us! :)

then we went to the Choyers Silk Factory... yep to buy silk blankets and underlays! haha. it was quite cheap compared to departmental stores in Singapore la so we got like ALOT. haha think we spent almost S$700 there. lol. bought silk pillows too which we very very comfy! lol.

yep so had lunch there and then after that we went to this bridge thing where you can see the 瑞光塔. it wasn't in our itinerary but our local guide just decided to stop and let us look-see that area. it was quite cool cos there was this young girl blading on the pavement there. i cant even imagine myself blading during winter. haha freeze my as* off. and the people who constructed this bridge were so thoughtful to the extent that they built this small pathway beside the steps for bicycle-riders to roll their bikes down. and China is seriously bicycle-heavy la! they even have this 慢车道 specially for them. its like the roads are divided for cars and for bicycles. haha.

after sightseeing near the bridge, we went to another place which wasn't in the itinerary cos we had some last min changes. it was called 沧浪亭。if i'm not wrong its the oldest private garden in Suzhou, dating back since 1045! but i think it was renovated in 1843. but still very very long ago. 165 years at least man!

the water's considered clear cos you get to see the absolute reflection la! so pretttyyyy. haha. wonder whether inside really got fish or not.

so we walked around the area while our local guide 小陈 (LG) explained to us the history of the place... which actually disappears from your mind once you leave the place. ah well. gives you greater understanding at that exact moment so i guess its good anyhow. haha. oops. yep so after much looking around and enjoying the scenery we then headed back to the van which drove us to 无锡... another 3-4 hours of warming the van seat... :(

so upon arrival in 无锡 Wuxi, we met our LG 小朱 met us...and then my mother went to rat on me by saying, "哦，我的女儿很喜欢那个台湾偶像阿……也是叫小猪的！哈哈！" 0_0 haha right. and then she laughed... anw, 小豬 had a concert in 無錫 in like 07 mid nov la! wahlaoooo hahaha just like more than a month before i was there.

then we went to the 三国城. it was a filming venue for those 古装片 previously, like 三国演义 etc. uber cool in a sense that it was HUGE and very scenic but then again its like mostly the same few things, though they had some 壮观 places where they filmed like warriors charging forward with the palace as the back drop that kinda thing. haha kinda reminded me of 满城尽带黄金甲 (The Curse of the Golden Flower) scenes...

and then we sorta kena conned cos our LG advised us to book this mini buggy so that we could tour the place since my grandma couldn't tahan the walking.. (the place was really huge anyway) but it was like S$40! and i thought the sightseeing would last longer but then it was just dropping at a few places and then going down and searching for photo points etc... so we only stopped at 4, 5 areas? so probably not worth it for the whole journey.

and they had daily shows, as usual attractions would. some reenactment of scenes from 三国演义 which i hardly understood cos they spoke in heavy accent. haha. quite cool to see it 'live' and there were some fire works as well (real blasts etc), and the cute but smelly horses. haha.

the sunset was really pretty and Mum asked me to capture it but it so happened that camera lens cant exactly capture gorgeous sunsets, or so i assumed. :( what we saw from our eyes was this red-orangey glow in the horizon but what came out was like a white dot in the pastel-coloured sky. :( bah.

then we went back into the buggy to drive us to the harbour where we boarded the ancient warship 古战船 to circle (which was pretty small) around 太湖... we were supposedly brought to this fresh-water pearl rearing area but it was too foggy to be seen. bah!

this was before the white dot appeared. and it was super freaking foggy :( but we kinda experienced foggy weather through out, and before the snow storms arrived which caused China humongous economic losses.

ok pic below was just for laughs cos the guards left their posts. haha.

after 三国城, we went to this 陶瓷博物院 (or something like that). Its a Chinese Teapot Museum. which was quite boring except for admiring the works of art of the most famous teapot master and his disciples. yep. and then they kinda 'bugged' us to buy the products so we bought this cup for 老师 which i thought was a steal la. haha. oh well.

finally it was dinner and we had silver fish 银鱼 from 太湖! the people in 无锡 mostly derive their income from the 太湖 cos they like rear oysters inside it, catch fish etc... so they cooked this dish with some vege soup which was quite thick and it tasted quite nice actually. dunno why the silver fish there is smaller than those from the fried ones at Crystal Jade. haha.

after dinner we did some shopping at Parksons but ended up buying close to nothing cos it was still expensive. though they say dept stores sell like 'imported' stuff... but i was wondering, aren't major sports apparel all made in China and the most they had to pay was like shipping across states? hmmm... maybe other taxes i guess. :( so the Adidas apparel and all were slightly cheaper only, cant be compared to the prices at the Yeoju Premium Outlets in Seoul. :( bah. i regret again.

yep we got some strawberries which were cheap, fresh and big! :) yum yum the taste still lingers in my mouth! haha okay maybe in my mind. and then it was back to the hotel: 海兴酒店. with more watching tv cos S.H.E was on some concert there. and there was Will Pan too :D

its been a seriously long time since i saw them.
HAHAHA. & Uncle Colin! but i think he's gonna blacklist my no. soon. bah. but we were so elated to see him. haha.

met all the 老將 yest. omg its been HOW LONG can. haha. like since sec 2? 4,5 years alr! time 可以飛的! lol. so funny please. haha we were playing 欠扁 games like Black Magic! haha and some number games and fuzzy wuzzy! okay like since orientation i didnt get fuzzy wuzzy but now i do! hahahahahaha okay. and i know Black Magic too! yay :D

trying to upload the videos onto youtube (yes, i decided to go back.) and erm catch some rest. cny is coming! excitinggggg i dunno why i feel so excited. yay.

have been going to work daily so far and it kinda sucks when every shoe i wear gives me blisters, except for sneakers and slippers. bah.

its the one on the extreme right and is made in the UK. this was cheaper at $5.95 (no offer) and so far the effect's pretty good cos it kinda relaxes your feet and all.

and then i went to the Converse warehouse sale the other day. ok i once said to myself that i'd never wear converse shoes but then again, a sale kinda entices everyone huh. haha and the sale was really good! i bought 3 pairs of shoes in the end and Dad got a pair, all for $110 only! which averages $27.50 for a pair! thats like.... cheap man! haha.

got myself a hi-top which i forgot the name so i cant search for the picture (too lazy to upload pics through cam), a (Product) Red CT Red Ox which i got in a size bigger (desperate for good buys la) cos it was like... good value for money! haha. and another Everlast slip-on which freakingly gave me blisters.

and the balls of my feet kinda hurt too. think i stepped on the clutch too hard the other day. darn manual driving kinda sucks when you gotta keep stepping on the clutch before you accelerate and then slowly let go and all. argh! but its kinda fun so i cant wait till my next prac on Mon! haha oops i digressed.

so anyhow, i got this

its selling for €73.81 (walao!) on sneakersnstuff but i doubt its still worth that much la. haha. i saw it at usual shops for about $80 when it was first out but i got this for only $39.90! yay.

anw, i'm in the midst of doing my China pictures/travelogue now! yay i've got lots of nice nice picturesque stuff to share! muahahaha.

today's my 2nd driving prac. and erm, i'm finally allowed to start off and drive in the circuit! such a cool thing la! hahah even though i'm only on 1st gear and going in circles and doing merely right turns, its still sucha wonderful experience! ahaha i cant wait to get upgraded!

am a proud owner of this new babe;

pretty much happy with the phone! cos it has a 5mp camera! except for the lousy fact that it cant be compared to Sony Ericsson's visual qualities... (eg themes, more colours etc) other than that i think Samsung wins down in its design. =D elegant and classy!

currently trying to get employed. nyahahah. and then erms busy with the bumming around and i'm officially starting my driving lessons tmr! rawr.

i'm kinda scared actually. used to get all excited with the go-karts at escape and phuket etc... now, its the real thing! although its in the circuit... its still in a real car! AH!

ahahah. okay i shall be brave. many firsts will still come my way!

been bumming around the past few days except for a small trip down to Orchard yest with Mum. other than that i guess its spring cleaning time and erm studying time! yahhh hahaha

for my basic theory 1! (yeah im kinda slow)

going for my first prac next tues! kinda excited and hopefully i dont start stalling the car midway. singapore is getting seriously hot. its like max at 32 deg now. oh gosh, just let me melt and flow into the Pacific Ocean or something. hopefully it'll lead me to the Yangtze River and i'll be back in China! like they say 落葉歸根 you know! haha.

i seriously miss China. a major pull factor being the wonderful comfortable climate (except for the reason that i caught a cold when running from 城隍廟 Chenghuangmiao back to the hotel 10mins away at like some 5deg, wearing just jeans, those bazhang jacket and one layer underneath)... but it was so foggy there the previous week! and so far the beginning of 2008 has seen China welcoming so many 明星s! haha last week F4 were in 南京 just a few days after i left! and on Sun the 13th, when i was back, Shanghai held their 2nd dunno-what awards ceremony! my local guide for Shanghai had a friend working at the tv station and the friend actually asked her previously to help source for a hotel for Rain! oh man! but he wanted to bring like 20 personnel with him so the tv station couldn't afford to accommodate THAT many people at a 5-6* hotel. :( so that weekend lots of people were in Shanghai, 小豬、Jay、S.H.E、潘瑋柏、Jolin etc... :( :( :(

China pictures and travelogue once again are up on my to-do list! rawr. gotta wait for dumb photoshop to load slowly... ok perhaps its not photoshop's fault. its vista's laggy system. :(

going for first job interview tmr! i hope it goes successful...

and so i'm back from China, well mainly Shanghai. and some other provinces as well. been lethargic. still adjusting to the 30deg temperature difference (i'm totally melting already & most prob gotta nurse a flu soon! darn), and trying to unpack my 1k worth of shopping! okay thats quite 誇張 but accd to mum thats roughly how much each of us spent! haha. thats double the amount i spent in tw!

anw, Amazing Race's in Taiwan today! shall watch it tonight! so excited! haha.

went to Jolin's Shanghai auto on Sat. darn! 小豬's was on Sun 430pm and i was back at 6am alr! :( from a horribly turbulent ride (turbulence for about 25 mins straight!) and a super tired body. ah well. pictures i got from the net, since there were tons of people at Jolin's and she wasn't exactly friendly. :(

ok i shall try to erm. clear my stuff and then try to pack up my room! haha.
